New Amex statement credits

I made a booking at Sofitel Melbourne on 15/12, and it has only just appeared as a pending transaction on my online account, so sometimes it can take quite a few days.

That's closer to my experience. Been about 3 days now. I'll chase them on Wednesday if it hasn't appeared.

Weird for a prepaid non-refundable booking... I'd have thought they'd be onto it immediately.

I've had charges for prepaid bookings come through months after booking, but still before the stay.

If you want it through before the offer ends, I'd be calling and asking for it to be processed on the spot. Sofitel did say to us that they dont usually take payment until checkout so they put ours through as a deposit.

Thanks. I'll do that. Did you call the hotel directly or Accor?

I want to buy something from Rebel which costs $49.98. Anyone know if the staff have the ability to increase the price to $50 on the eftpos machine?

There will be something near the checkout that costs only a few dollars you can buy to cement the deal.

I was assured a $19.98 item in local pharmac_ could go through as $20 in Shop Small-it didn't  (x4)

Tonight I bought a $100 Rebel GC over two cards. One email received. Probably won't get a second email but will probably the credit in time.

Bought a $150 Coles/Myer GC at Myer. Email received. Had to look around the store for the card.

Lady at the register actually asked where did I find the card? Explained to her the cash back at AMEX had probably made the GC popular, to which she replied: I should have married a guy like you...

Assured by who?? - A person who works at the store?

I thought it was pretty simple t&c - spend $20 and get $10 back - $19.98 isn't $20.

Indeed and if the EFTPOS terminal says $19.98 then it's $19.98. you don't round up when paying electronically!

There was clearly a miscommunication on what I wanted her to do. Originally asked for split payment. She said she could put through as $20. I guess she was assuming rounding. My responsibility and mad emoji at me not her

No issue splitting payment for gift cards at Westfield Southland today, nor any difficulties locating Coles Myer cards in Myer.

Dropped by Maroubra First Choice Liquor - reports on here are correct - they've been cleaned out of everything but First Choice Liquor GCs. Looks like it's got to the early bird catches the worm now.
