New Amex statement credits

Thanks guys for reporting back on your experiences. I'll drop into my local HN on weekend. Got plenty of places unfortunately who don't take Amex so good way to prep for new MC/Visa downgrades coming.
Assuming it's fully subscribed now. Will check tonight and register my last 10 cards :)

Bad news to report I'm afraid. Visited Harvey Norman Warrawong. No Vpay cards in stock. They told me they don't stock them anymore.
whats a Vpay card?
is it vpay.com.au but thats a virtual visa, I would assume yuo buy those online.

Oh. What happens if you don't produce the required ID?

Under ID legislation an ADI is required to block the withdrawal of credit funds if he person hasnt satified the ID requirement.
As credit cards dont have money 'deposited' (generally) my guess is they will do buggar all. Especially as the primary cardholder has already been ID'd

I have only had legit Supp cardholders and so I cannot advise.

My Amex MR balance floats around the 7 figure mark and so I do not take undue risks with my Amex card/s being cancelled or put at risk.

My cat once had a supplementary card!!

And my pet fish have had WOW Cards.;)

However I have have had no need to join up my pets or imaginary friends for Amex Supp Cards as I have ample real people. IMO there is no point taking a risk when there is nothing to gain from it.

HN told me they can only do a $300 V Pay per transaction per customer per day. So I walk out. Did you actually able to load $350 on the v pay?
Vpay max is $300. I bought 4 to get the bonus on 3 Amex cards.

So what about split payment $200 & $150 with 2x $5.50 fee to get the $50 credit? Anyone?
Yes, as long as you get the $350 spend per card.

Went to purchase some Vpays today. At the first HN store cashier said manager doesn't allow CC transactions. Asked to speak with the manager, he came and said can't buy credit using credit. Really? Hmm... Asked to see where this policy is WRITTEN. Off course he couldn't find it and instead started mumbling that this is the store policy blah blah blah...
At the second HN cashier was super nice and happy to process all transactions. She was even patient enough when I got the pin wrong on one card and had to call AMEX for reset.

Anyway, was trying to load some funds into Coles MC but it doesn't work. Is it not possible anymore to transfer from Vpay?

No. Got canned the last time vpays were on offer from Harvey Norman (Nov 2016?)

Just went to local HN @ Moore Park NSW. Got a very diligent lady behind the counter asked her manager who asked her manager and they came back with a 'no' we can't see you any on Amex.
Asked if I could have 2 which I'd pay for on one card and she agreed. Better than nothing. I'm happy to buy up to 9 on the one card ($50 rebate should cover the issue fees) as I can spend them later at non Amex merchants. Much more time efficient than buying $100 GCs for the same result.
Btw I went to the electrical area. I'd asked in another area and they didn't know what I was talking about. Anyone have experience of buying these in another department?

welcome to AFF Green. there's lots of interesting forums here

A number of the Harvey Norman stores I have visited have stopped selling Vpay. Instead they are selling these:

Mygift2u - Prepaid VISA cards

A few points to note:

1) Like Vpay cards they can only be loaded for fixed denominations (and $350 is NOT one of these denominations - but $500 is as is $200 and $150).
2) Unlike Vpay these are physical cards, so can be used in store as well as online. They seem to be like the VISA Only 1 cards that many will be familiar with from prior Woolworths promotions. Note there is no PIN with these cards.
3) Stock levels of these cards at the stores I have visited have been very low (average was 6 cards per store).
4) Fee for these new cards is $5.95 per card. Vpay was $5.50 per card.
5) You cannot use these new VISA gift cards to top up Coles Reloadable Mastercards.
