New Amex statement credits

I was pumped up to go out on the first day to my HN with my 15 amex's to buy cards. Would of netted about $600ish if they were available.

Don't know if it was just me, but I was anxious AF and didn't end up going. Going through the small shop last year, and using 15 cards at different merchants having to explain why over and over , has kind of worn me down.
Anybody else experience this?

It is a factor. I don't use all of my cards at once. I tend to stagger them over a period of time in taking up the offers. Remember that the Harvey Norman offer does not end until July 4. Having said that sometimes it is best to hit these hard, especially if you think they may be shut down for perceived abuse.

It's not the most pleasant thing, asking for multiple card transactions. My +1 for example could never bring herself to do that but the way I look at it, is it worth embarrassing yourself a little to save $600?
Damn right it is!

yeah that's why I was all ready to go out on the first day, had the day off work as well. But then I got all nervous about managers coming out and NO VPAY FOR YOU situations was running through my head.

Last years 300/100 harvey norman one, I got 5 vpay on the first day, the lady was super nice as well, and this was before it was all over OZB. I didn't do the other 10 cards cause I was ' chicken'. I should have, because when I went in they had issues getting it to print (worked out really well in the end , they charged my AMEX cards, but I got them to refund on another card when the vpay vouchers wouldnt print lol )..Did this 4 times for literally free money. A week later went to finish my cards and they had the no AMEX signs up for vpay. I prefer on the online cashbacks as no face to face interventions needed. Maybe I'm still burnt out from last years crazy offers at the end , the myer and westfields one as well...

spacebar
yes my wife refuses now if its too hard, as she hates being told off by managers etc...even for free money :-)

Your problem is there's only one Hardly Normal in the whole of CBR. I could imagine they'd be swampped on the weekend with VPay purchases making their other 'normal' customers wait which is undesirable.

A number of the Harvey Norman stores I have visited have stopped selling Vpay. Instead they are selling these:

Mygift2u - Prepaid VISA cards

A few points to note:

1) Like Vpay cards they can only be loaded for fixed denominations (and $350 is NOT one of these denominations - but $500 is as is $200 and $150).
2) Unlike Vpay these are physical cards, so can be used in store as well as online. They seem to be like the VISA Only 1 cards that many will be familiar with from prior Woolworths promotions. Note there is no PIN with these cards.
3) Stock levels of these cards at the stores I have visited have been very low (average was 6 cards per store).
4) Fee for these new cards is $5.95 per card. Vpay was $5.50 per card.
5) You cannot use these new VISA gift cards to top up Coles Reloadable Mastercards.

When you log into these mygift2u cards, is there a way to use them to BPay ?

Just trying to activate the two cards I bought today at pay.com.au

I've completed all the details on the registration page. It keeps giving me the following error message:
"The field Date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy) must be a date."
I keep typing my DOB in the format it suggests e.g. 12 April 1981 as "12/04/1981" but it doesn't let me progress any further.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Edit: I recalled this happened when I bought these cards with the last Amex Promo in November 2016 and switching to Chrome from Safari (I'm on a Mac worked but can't navigate to the site with Chrome on any of my devices).

Had this issue previously as well. Think I ended up needing to report it to their help desk by email to get it sorted - [email protected]

Purchased a $500 Visa gift card today at Harvey Norman. Received Amex email almost immediately.

As the transaction was going through it suddenly clicked that I shouod have bought a $1000 Visa gift card as the $5.95 fee is the same for all denominations.

First time I have seen Visa gift card at a Harvey Norman for a long time. I thought about grabbing 3-4 for next time as expiry is 8/18.

Interesting. I'd bought a few at the tail end of the last offer but they wouldn't load them for more than $300. I wasn't fussed as was getting the $100 rebate. This would be very helpful to have a high denomination card so don't need to split payments.
I didn't see them in the stores I visited today. Are these quite common? Any stores in the Sydney area?

What is the maximum amount you can put on any one card?

Staff told me today that $1000 was possible.

Thanks, good to know for next time. I just saw the vpay and got it without looking around, my limited understanding of prepaid VISA cards was that they were only available in fixed amounts with a low denomination and the vpay made more economic sense.
