New Amex statement credits

Must admit I did use the same initial thing to get mstr andye2 into one of the lounges in KUL using mrs andye's card

Do DJs sell any other gift cards at all? iTunes even, if we're that desperate?

Not a bad deal even to buy their own gift cards, given 24-month expiry rather than the usual 12. Surely enough time to price-match for some household/technology purchase...

I haven't seen any. Bought more than I could use in one of last year's generous statement credit offers intending to buy a discounted iPhone from them - they no longer sell technology (like the sort you might have found in their now defunct Dick Smith in house store). Couldn't see any GCs (e.g. Visa) that could be used outside DJS.

At least with Myer, can buy Coles Group & Myer GCs which can be used across Coles Group or to buy Visa or MC Branded GCs to spend outside the group.

Best to have a look to make sure they sell the technology you intend to buy or a wider variety than their own in house GCs before committing so your $$ isn't trapped until you find something you genuinely want to buy from DJS.

Looks like HN are unique in the larger 'department' stores given it sells external GCs, not just its own.

.

When the Myers Cashback was on Myer's had some GCs available for non-Coles Group spend. While not a big range it did have some like Netflix. I cannot remember what they all were now, but there were some. But no nothing like what is on offer at Supermarkets.

For anyone with vpay cards, have you found a way to pay BPay with it?
All the official BPay sites tell you to go to your bank's internet banking and do it from there.
I do realise it's owned by the Big 4 banks but surely there is another way...
Due to a payment coming at just over $299, I want to get the most out of a $300 vpay.

ETA: I just part paid my electricity bill which used it up :)

I don't believe that this is possible. But surely you don't need it. Prepay your phone, internet, gas, water and electricity. That's $1000 very quickly taken care of and probably if like me more like $5000 when I factor in strata + rates.

O'Connor (WA) HN don't sell VPay or eftpos gift cards due to fraud. Does anyone know if any other HN's have VPay cards/Visa GC (etc) in WA?

The vivid offers are on amexconnect now
Is the Vivid lounge worth the effort?

I've activated the offer and will be in SYD for the final week of Vivid, but staying in the coughle Bay Area. Is it worth the trek, or should I just check out the lights around Darling Harbour?

Mrs SydneySwan popped into the lounge on Saturday evening and highly recommended it. Apparently it has great views of the lights.

Any reports on what the food/drink options are like? It's it's a "pay per order" bar then the use of the card promo could go quite well

Just a reminder if you have the targeted Cellarmasters (spend $120 get $20 back) offer that it ends today.

Food average, drinks ok. Easy to buy multiple rounds and nab a few credits

Went into the local HN today and asked about visa gift cards, got the last one and I saw the laminated sign saying not valid for AMex $50 promo. When the CSR was loading it he said i could only do $300 or $500 as they cant manually input it anymore (sounded like bs).
Went through and got an email from AMEX saying:

Thank you for using Amex Offers with your Card ending 41**** at HARVEY NORMAN. If your purchase meets the offer terms, you will receive a $50.00 credit. Credits usually take 5 days to appear on your account upon completion of your qualifying transaction, but may take up to 90 days after the offer has ended.

Is this what everyone else got?

Just nod and say yes and keep nodding.

You will get the credits as long as it isn't the domain hn stores
