I didn't think it was inconsistent with the same time last yearAnyone wonder why Amex have gone crazy with these offers in the last couple of months?

Actually I thought last year had better offers than this.I didn't think it was inconsistent with the same time last year
Went to another Best and Less today, got a $50 eftpos GC (friendlier for bills) and was charged the $5.95 fee - they had to scan the "fee" separately. Split over two cards with no problem. Happy days.
My comment was in realtion to the frequency of the offers which was what I understood the OP was commenting on.Actually I thought last year had better offers than this.
Thanks for the BP app link - three Amexes registered so $30 of credits coming my way ($10 already achieved!).Another heap of offers
got charged for the 5.95 fees at HS Spencer Outlet in Melbourne.. :-(Yes I managed to get some at the weekend at B&L as well. They were happy to split one $50 eftpos card over 2 Amex but there is a bar code for the $5.95 fee on each card now. However at Harris Scarfe they are still not charging the fee. Be quick.
missed out on registering as I wasnt aware of them stocking itYes I managed to get some at the weekend at B&L as well. The attendant at HS I went to was quite clear that he was deliberately not applying the fee. Wish I had signed up more than 3 cards. The $5.95 fee barcode has always been there. The question has just been whether staff were trained to scan it. When I bought these cards a few weeks ago the fee barcode was clearly visible but the staff member has no idea and didn’t scan it.
As it’s a manual process for staff to scan two different barcodes then it could very well be a case of if they scan the fee barcode then don’t buy them and try again later.
Why would he do that???The attendant at HS I went to was quite clear that he was deliberately not applying the fee. Wish I had signed up more than 3 cards.
Potentially also viable without offer particularly with Accelerator/Explorer
No idea. He was all across the Amex offer. Said he had someone with 20 cards the day beforeWhy would he do that???

My experience was different. The visa1 cards I bought from HS did not have a bar code for the fee. The ones from B&L had a barcode for $5.95 stuck on manually on the top LH corner on the back. All cards bought from stores in Top Ryde centre.
