New Amex statement credits

I'm not seeing any discounts of the full 20%. My flights seem to attract only 10%. It does say "up to".....

Interestingly, on some of my flights searched as return flights, there's no discount at all even though the little PROMO tag is showing. Same price as using no code at all. Searching as one way flights the price of the same flights reduce by 10%. Tried searching on the iPhone app, the same thing happened but was offered fewer flight options.

Sometimes dealing with VA is like being in a Monty Python sketch. "This parrot is not dead, it's sleeping."

What are peoples' thoughts about the Hilton offer terms?
"Offer is limited to one credit per Card for pre-paid online bookings".

Do you think this would allow me to book 2 x pre-paid nights at $179 per night and then spend $42 to make up the $400 or would I be better to select a more expensive room to take me over the $400 pre-paid amount?

Over on Ozbargain a merchant has managed to confirm that there will be only one Shop Small this year and it will be in November.

Slightly off topic to your post, but when we stayed at Hilton Sydney earlier this month they would only let us split the bill over 3 credit cards, so ended up missing out on one of the credits. Not sure if this is the same at all of the hotels

I recently spent $275 with Qantas for taxes on a reward flight. If I spend $25 on carbon offsets, is it likely I will score the $50 statement credit (net credit being $25 + some feel good factor)?

T&Cs state in one or more transactions.

Bugger - you complain about the extortionate taxes and then you find they are not extortionate enough! Yes I am pretty certain that would work.

On 2 of my 8 cards have a BPME offer - spend 40 for 10 back. Not as generous as last December but still worthwhile. The 2 cards that have the offer I didn't use last time. They are both Velocity Escape cards. Those that I did use on the offer last time do not have the offer this time.

I can't remember which cards I used the offer last time but this time it appeared on my edge and charge card and all its supplementary card holders

Nothing on any of my cards this time. Do we know if there is a manual link?

Why not buy a $50 voucher?
