New Amex statement credits

thanks. did you get the separate credits this time? Do you know if you can use more than one amex card to pay for a gift card ?

Yes separate credits received. No - no splitting allowed on the day I went. Sales assistant was very firm about this.

targeted? I only see 5000 pts for taking ezicover life insurance on mine card....

Saw that too. Clicking through to the T&Cs makes no mention of the bonus points though which is slightly concerning.

Long trek through Sydney Myer being told at every turn that no CG&M. Persistence pays off-still some on Level 6 Wonderland

Only a dozen or so Coles Myer GC’s left in Wonderland, the lovely Celine processed it fuss free. David Jones wasn’t so bad but I guess I should’ve avoided going to the Customer Service section in Market St to avoid the wait and a bunch of annoyed staff who’s been processing this for a while now. Westfields right next to Microsoft was hell - long queue, can’t split cards, someone took it to the next level and demanded to put $48 in the card so the total is $50.95! I was like meh bought my usual $52.95 and call it a day.

They were happy to split cards in Myer-not that it makes a difference financially but more convenient and leaves more CGMs for others

The Sydney Westfield Concierge on the Myer side were very politely not accepting Google Pay today
She said that she would have done if able to match names with ID

Hertz - spend 200 for 50 credit.

As I will be in MEL on Thursday and Friday, I need to utilise my final 2 GC’s (or buy something) from DJ’s. Haven’t been shopping in MEL for years - this could be fun

Last Friday I had to use Samsung Pay as they wouldn't accept Google Pay as the former shows your name on the digital card. I did show the same digital card twice though ;)

Bought some at lunch time. Went to both Westfield concierge desks. They both said they couldn’t do Apple pay as couldn’t see the number but first desk made an exception for me and the second desk offered to do it after he could tell I wasn’t buying $50 cards (they had heaps of pre-labeled $50 cards so it must have been a popular denomination).

Anyone know of gift card possibilities with Hertz?

None that I have ever seen, or can search on the Hertz website. Only some on third party websites, but whilst they point back to the Hertz website, still can't find anything.

I had a poke around and came up empty too. I'm going to call my 'local' and ask, just in case it's a franchise thing.

I didn't have all my Amex cards yesterday and went back to Westfield to buy some more GCs. Both concierge desks had different staff. They would only accept Apple pay if you let them have a look in settings and that would show the cardholder names. Tried to add card to ApplePay and specified my name and didn't pass validation.

Concierge on Westfield side, said all of this but didn't push the point and let me pay with all my ApplePay cards which were supps for family members. Found a tougher cookie on the Central Plaza size who stuck to her guns where I'd received a better reception yesterday.

No shortage of CM gift cards at MYER Melbourne this week. Sydney was a little harder. The lower levels had poor stock but higher up they had some still.

For some future reference, the CM gift cards at MYER are slightly different to those in Coles (they have a MYER barcode on the packaging).
