New Amex statement credits

Most are rubbish to me, but I just logged in, and found this:

Outback Steakhouse - Spend $100 or more, get $20 back, up to 3x - Expires in 3 days
 
Made a Red Cross donation last week, and the points were credited in a few days. A much faster process than the 7 month delay in 2020.

I think I checked them out previously and they were useless since they only accepted Amex if the biller did. So, like, what's the point? But the wording of the website now suggests you can use Amex and they'll BPay. I will pay 1.5% to do that if I can earn full points (this might be the best ATO option now), especially now that the Dragon has stopped paying on government.

I never used sniip for the same reason.
glad they now take amex for everything.
i just paid 1.5% to earn 2000pts (over 2 cards), though i could've used postbillpay without surcharge and got the full 2.25 earn.

did you end up trying it to the pay "the man"? full points?

Not yet. I paid Optus to hit the offer. I will advise when I've paid something specifically either to the Man or to a biller who doesn't accept Amex through other channels.
 
Got Incu and Corkscrew on both Plat Charge and Westpac Black. Got Sniip on Westpac Black only.
