New Amex statement credits

I would've been happier if they kept the Shangri-La status and not added that $150 credit...

These days I assume most AMEX Plat members will prefer more shopping credits rather than travel related benefits, especially with loyalty programmes such as Shangri-la which has minimal footprint in Australia.

The latest offers seem to be targeted in a strange way. I got none on my Explorer but my wife did, yet I got them on my Altitude and she didn’t. Both of us got them on the other cards apart from Plat Charge.

Got First Choice on Plat Reserve (as companion to Plat Charge), both primary and supp, but no other cards.

Didn't get Chemist Warehouse (although we've received Chemist Warehouse on a subset of cards before).

I didn't receive CW offer this time but got it on 2 cards last time - GCs worked. FCL sell Coles-Myer GCs and these have generated the Amex credit in the past.

Only got FCL on my main Explorer card not on Edge. None of my supps got it either. No luck with CW on any cards.

Didn't get Chemist Warehouse on either.

Just received Chemist Warehouse on Westpac Black via email, it wasn't showing in Amex Offers (even after the email was received) but I could successfully activate through the link in the email.

Now what is strange is that I am now getting more offers on my Amex companion (28 Degrees) card than I am on either of my different Amex.

I use the fee free 28 Degrees for the fee free international transactions & Amex for most other. Relative spending (in 2020 especially) has favoured Amex more than 6 to 7 to 1 and yet.....

How and what are you getting for your 28 degrees card? We don’t seem to get any for that, only for Amex.

A mishmash of offers today;

Harvey Nicholls - get one 15% credit
Athletes Foot - 150 / 20
Stylerunner - 100 / 15 and 150 / 20 (on the same cards - presume they stack)
Platypus Online - 100 / 15
Microsoft Online - 400 / 80 on some cards, 500 / 100 on others
