New Amex statement credits

Interesting! Tbh I wouldn't mind doing it in one go but it doesn't read that it works that way?

Yeah, the thing is, other offers which state 'up to X times' have still stacked onto a single transaction I've made. Attached are some personal examples (original offer text for both was get $20 back 2x):

Makes sense, according to the Amex offer T&C:

  • Purchases made at NET-A-PORTER must be shipped to Australia and paid for in Australian Dollars.
  • Purchases made at MR PORTER must be shipped to Australia and paid for in Great British Pounds.
  • Payments made at MR PORTER are charged in Great British Pounds. These purchases will be converted to Australian Dollars based on the rate of exchange at the time your Card is charged.

If the product you want is available, best use https://www.net-a-porter.com/en-au/ to be charged in AUD (no forex fee) and shipping will be 10 AUD flat. In the case of the Aesop items I purchased last week, items come from HKG via DHL.

Those 2x promos were eligible to be used within the same time window, whereas the Net-a-Porter promo is not:

  • The redemption periods are between 04 January 2022 - 30 June 2022, 1 July 2022 - 31 December 2022, 1 January 2023 - 30 June 2023 and between 1 July 2023 - 31 December 2023. Limited to a maximum of two credits at a total of $150 each year, per Card.
  • Benefit is limited to one credit of up to $75 each redemption period, per Card.

Spend $50 for $10 credit at food delivery services - includes Deliveroo, Hey You and Menulog.

Yeah, I suspect targeted. Didn't get it on any of mine or my partner's cards, we both made very good use of the spend 30 get 10 Menulog deal a couple of months ago

The Mycar deal isn't terrible if you need a new set of tyres - the prices listed on their site are expensive but they will also pricebeat stores within 30km, and offer 1 flybuys point per dollar.

Of if you're a family with two cars, get both serviced at the same time. Did this with the offer last year. Timing worked out well with the service interval then.

I’ve just had the very nice people at Mycar do a price match on a set of continental tyres from this place. Wheels & Tyres Melbourne | Alloy, Mag Wheels and Rims Shop
(Luxury Wheels, in SE Melbourne)
The plan now is to ask the kindly store manager to let me spread the cost over two cards… 2x $400 is better than one!! 😀

Forever New - 100 / 20
Mycar Tyre & Auto - 400 / 100
Financial Times - 120 / 40
I used that mycar offer last year to get the $100 off, as I needed a new set of tyres. Good deal.

Pays to read the T&Cs. Mrs prozac purchased shoes using the $100/$20 Skechers offer. Turns out the purchase was made at the only store in Sydney that wasn't participating in the offer. I'll try not to get caught again.

EDIT: Not upset about it but alerting others the need to check. I have done very well with offers the past few months and I am still receiving between 4 and 7 points per dollar. Will be very nice when I can book foreign travel. ;)

Good reminder.

There's something similar with the current Oporto offer, the closest store to me is not on the AMEX list.
