New Amex statement credits

FYI, I've received the credit previously when spending on flights.
I have as well, though I've had mixed success with it, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Just got the $500/$150 offer on my Plat.

Also used part of the local dining credit last week... per usual, the list of restaurants was underwhelming and overpriced but a free lunch is a free lunch (allegedly -- the credit hasn't hit yet). Hard to imagine using the credit overseas given the limited options, and even then, using it means giving up a meal somewhere we might prefer more.

Also handy if you're able to find a decent deal with the international airfare programme and stack the offers. In the past I've not thought much of the airfare programme, but have had some solid savings this year in both Qatar business and Air Canada premium economy. Put a TC towards one and a similar offer as this one today that included flights towards the other to save a bit more.

Shame this one excludes the flights.

Would you guys know if the Amex Travel Online offer works for the Golden triangle routes (SYD-MEL, SYD-BNE etc...?)

I booked a QF SYD-MEL return flight via Amex Travel and successfully received the last 400/100 offer in May. It had the same terms as the current offer.

Also not working for FHR or Hotel collections, sad

I would bet that it works on prepaid FHR/THC bookings so long as they are charged in AUD. Expect no status nights/recognition at the property though.

Marriott does I think, not sure if its for all Marriott hotels. Went to Hobart last week and stayed at The Tasman through FHR, they added my membership number.

But surely not for IHG hotels.

Can confirm it woks for FHR hotels in AU if you pre-pay.

Bit of a risk when it is against AMEX T+Cs
I just wish they would get rid of Merivale Online Nationwide as a Dining Partner for their AU $200 Dining Credit since Merivale tell me they haven't sold online for quite some time....... Informed Amex Customer Care mid last week but thewy are not really interested.....
Otherwise here in South OZ we can buy some overpriced ..... from Simon Johnson to get our $200 credit Many of us are not keen to burn COVID burn in the Eastern States

He yat least yo have somewhere to use your credit - we have some extremely bad and extremely poor and limited choices here in SA, places we wouldn't even go if we won the Tattslotto......
