New Amex statement credits

Did you guys get the cashback email from Amex after purchasing GC from VC? I got none on all my cards.

I purchased gc on 5 x Amex cards at VC on 30 July. No email confirmations on any of them and still no cashbacks.

Seems like Amex Promos are luck of the Lucky Irish Draw No???? The calibre of late is certainly Irlanidsch oder???;;;;

VC at Manuka in Canberra (the only VC in town) refused to sell more than two GCs per customer, due to "gift card fraud" apparently. When I asked if he thought I was a perpetrator or a victim he said "Possibly both".

This kind of making cough up, and that's exactly what it is, is annoying to say the least.

I purchased two and got the emails pretty quickly.

I am all familied out from previous offers unfortunately. I don't have the chutzpah to start with the family pets.

I have one spot left so I tried to add my father-in-law on Friday. Received 3 phone calls on Saturday morning (I ignored the first two because the number looked like a spam caller) despite the office hours being Mon-Fri. CSA advised that a drivers license or passport number would be required to verify ID of supp card holder. This was followed up with an email requesting a photo of the ID.

Of course, none of this was required as recently as a few months ago when I added my father.

I know it's annoying, but could you go back on a different day / when somebody else is working etc? Not sure how many cards you were hoping to get...

Usually the points offers only show up on MR cards. Can't recall ever seeing one on the QF or VA cards.

Just did a booking myself for a flight next year and also received the e-mail confirmation immediately. If it credits back, I'll have saved several hundred together with this and the discount through the int'l airfare programme. Not too shabby.

hmm i just chcekd 6 Aug is transaction date,
Credit has not come through yet, now im starting to doubt if i will..

regardless, ill give them a call in a month and request for it to be credited, while playing dumb

Received emails for all 4 purchases but last 2 credits not received. Last 2 purchases both made on 03/08. Also missing 1 of my Special credits despite receiving email. That purchase was made on 26/07.

Credit has not come through yet, now im starting to doubt if i will..

I've often found the AmEx Travel ones to be a bit slow to credit, so hold onto hope but realistically I don't like your chances.
