New Amex statement credits

Re: AMEX - Spend $50 three times at Dan Murphy's, and get one $50 credit

Auto CC payments by "Direct Debit" to Telstra (nor Optus I believe) do not incur a CC fee.

With the Dan Murphy's offer can you out through all three purchases on same day

Paul, did this just last week. Told the checkoutcharlie I wanted the 2 Gordons Gin ($29 ea...bargain), scanned and paid, then the 2 brandy, then the 6 assorted wines. Wasn't a problem for him at all. Told him why as well.

edit: Just saw already answered.

Thanks guys. Bought 3 cases of beer and some wine on the Reserve and the Edge and got both statement credits instantly.

One of the best cashback offers so far!

I've found that it is generally quicker than that. More like 2-3 days.
Just had a look at my account. Yes, that is more like it...but it seemed much longer. ;)
The $50 credited separately to my bank branded amex.

We're not big drinkers. So i wanted to buy 3x $50 wish cards from my local Dan Murphy to get my $50 back from amex. But they only sell Dan Murphy gift cards.
Does anybody know if I can use Dan Murphy gift cards at Woolies?

I can confirm these work in Woolworths, Big W and the Woolworths co-branded caltex. I haven't tried anywhere else. I was warned by the staff member at Dan Murphy's that they "could refuse to accept them at Woolworths when they see the Dan Murphy's logo" but I usually tend to use self service where possible and I don't find they have issues with my payment choices;). The guy at the Woolworths caltex didn't bat an eyelid either :D

Yes, they definitely work in Woolies and not just at self serve counters.

If you are not big drinkers why not buy 3 decent wines you can really enjoy when you do have a reason to have a drink, or 6 mid range wines. They wil keep.

I just received the congratulatory email from Amex for three $50 transactions at Dans. The thing is, I reckon I only did it twice. I've gone back through my transactions and whilst there are a few more purchases, they weren't $50 or more.

Plus, I'm local champion at Dans - bonus :)

Any thoughts on if Coles and woolies gift cards might work at any store and just be branded differently? Happy to remove post if pmd

Coles cards seem much more locked down for use on fuel at least. But wish/any WW chain store and they work everywhere.

All the ww group cards work at all group stores from online reports (masters dan's etc) no matter what the front of the card says. So 3x $50 Dan's cards = no problem. I haven't been brazen enough to buy one after another but i hear it's possible.

been using my DM at big w and woolies with no problems.
I have also in the past bought a masters giftcard with a wish card (before I realised they were interchangable), so in theory you can buy wish cards with wish cards. Shame you can't make points off that transaction :(
