Bought 3 x $50 Dan Murphy gift cards in 3 separate transaction in the space of 2 mins, $50 credit email came in at the same time the check-out done the transaction. Confirmed using DM giftcard at Woolworth with no problems. Now off to use DM giftcards to get WISH giftcards to complete my 3-week Everyday Reward card deals!!! Thanks AMEX.

Like call centre operators, the staff can say what they want but at the end of the day it's the actual purchase at Woolworths that I was concerned about. Will probably use mine as an excuse to get champagne anyway...

If you are talking about the $30 gift card for the Spend $100 for 3 weeks offer it says.... *Qualifying amount can be spent in one or multiple transactions, and excludes liquor, smoking/tobacco products, gift cards and selected services.

but this may not apply to your offer just thought I would let you know because I would be interested in doing this also if you have found a different offer that allows gift card purchases? thanks

This offer generally excludes wish gift cards, but may allow others, such as iTunes etc. YMMV so I'd say buy non-perishables to be safe.

Thanks Bree for the heads up. I didn't read too much into that T&C. :D

I also get a spent $50 at Woolie get 200 EDR points deal for some reason. Might try that instead.

No problems I've just noticed in the past most of the EDR bonus offers mention gift cards not counting towards spend. I haven't tried it myself to know for sure though. Goodluck :)

I just got another 5k points from that life insurance offer a while back ?!?!?! I forgot to cancel it. Give it a couple of months to ensure the points stay and I will do this time ;)
 
A bit late to the party. Enrolments are closed for the Dan Murphy's offer. :(

It's a shame as I would have used to help out the golf club. Struggling is putting it nicely.

This whole process much simpler than I thought it might be. Yesterday I went to Dan's in Parkdale and sought out David who is Dan's resident fine wine expert and Assistant Store Manager.

I explained the $50 Statement Credit offer which he had heard of but had no idea how it worked. I told him I had 4 cards registered so needed to buy $600 worth of wine - I wanted 4 x 6 bot lots to get Dan's cheapest shelf price - 2 x Cab Savs and 2 X Shiraz - so what is his advice on current best quality / value in $25 / $26 range?

He advised will be no problem to do multiple transactions on 4 cards to burn up the $600. Picked out 4 x 6 bot lots and returned this morn to finalise - ended up total cost $604.20 less $200 credit = $400 - so 11 x $50 + 1 x $54.20 transactions got us over the line - and the emails re 4 statement credits were in inbox when I returned to office - now that's a deal!

Just got an email confirming the $20 credit for a direct debit payment on my Telstra Bill (min $60) has now been issued - cost about 45 MR points as only 50% earn on 'utilities' for the card in question. I'll switch it back to a 100% earn card next week.

Looking to an Optus one next week. :D

I just use my AMEX card via Paypal to pay my Telstra Bill and get 100% points via this method.
