New Amex statement credits

The $10/$20 penalty for less than a dozen reduces the incentive to improvise something to take advantage of this deal. With the gift voucher situation, I don't think Amex can tell what's been purchased unless they've done a voucher retrieval/inquiry with the merchant so you could theoretically buy a $150 voucher, get the $50 credit and blow $150 on another card in conjunction with the $150 voucher bought?
Ah huh my thinking exactly - but can you redeem multiple Gift Vouchers on a single purchase online or over phone? I have 4 cards registered so to max value this method I would need to buy and redeem 4 x $100 and 4 x $50 Gift Vouchers - great plan if I can make it work - anybody with knowledge on multiple Gift Voucher usage?

Someone could give it a go? XD
I think a bunch of us bought the Qantas voucher when there was the cash back, and we got the $50 back.

Yep looks like I best try - I just called Winestar and the dude I spoke to really did not know whether multiple Gift Vouchers could be used on a single purchase - I asked who would know - his response was 'Well me if anybody' - there ya go.

As usual Ts & Cs prohibit Gift Voucher purchases:

C. Transactions that are not eligible
The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer:
  • transactions where you do not spend directly with the merchant (for example, if you buy the merchant’s goods through a third party department store);
  • transactions processed through a third party payment processor (for example, PayPal);
  • transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded;
  • transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.
But hopefully some knowledgeable AFFer would have already been down this path?

Viridianne not aware of the Qantas voucher you quote - details pls?

OP was just saying that buying a flight voucher for the Qantas offer triggered the statement credit. By extension, buying a Winestar voucher should do the same.
Oh ok - yes the WW offers also allegedly excluded Dans Gift Card purchases but both times I got credits - best I bite the bullet and take one for the team huh?

Except the gift cards doesn't come in $150 - so it will be a $50 and $150 for the first purchase, $200 (using $50 gift card) for the second purchase and $250 (using $100 gift card) for the third final purchase. $600 worth of stuff for $450 not including the $10/$20 non-dozen penalty? Maximum 25% discount just isn't worth the effort if you can't split payments. I think I'll give this a miss.

Done and dusted - spent $150 on ea of 4 cards - 1 x $100 and 1 x $50 Gift Vouchers ea - have received 4 x emails from AMEX noting $50 credits to ea card.

Now to spend - how often do Winestar distribute email 'offers'? Or what are opinions of AFF wine gurus on best quality / value offerings around the $50 mark? )Cab Sav or Shiraz only pls)

I think even adding in the $10 for 6 bottles is decent value. I am a novice drinker and ordered
2 Flametree Margaret River Cabernet Merlot 2012
1 Ringbolt Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
1 Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
2 Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz 2015 for $152 all up - less the $50 cash back, so those wines for about $100
Very good value IMO...but I could be wrong?

But using those giftcards seems like the way too go...if only we knew if we could use multiple vouchers per order

edit: got a reply
Hi Johnny

Yes multiple eGift Vouchers can be used per order.

SUCCESS! As posted here I purchased 1 x $100 and 1 x $50 Gift Vouchers on 4 diff AMEX cards - I decided to go with 12 x Veuve @ $59.99ea so no freight - $719.88 less $200 credits = $43.32/bott IMCCAC - not as cheap as the CM mistake sales but I am happy with final price.

Process to redeem Gift Vouchers very painless and quite simple to 'Apply" ALL 8 Gift Vouchers to the order.

So there you go - YES purchase of Gift Vouchers will trigger credit and YES you can stack multiple Gift Vouchers into 1 Purchase Order - hope this helps some others.

Well done CE :D. Just to clarify, stacking vouchers was possible with an online order or over the telephone?

YES easy to do online - the only tricky bit is that as you apply ea Gift Voucher to your purchase then the Purchase Order Total does not change to reflect this - unlike Dan's which does - so I called to check and was Guaranteed only remaining balance post Gift Voucher application would be charged to card - subsequent docs post purchase finalisation reflect this was indeed the case.
