I just converted 10000 Flybuys points to Etihad for the sake of seeing some EY points in Award Wallet but only 9893 Flybuys points were deducted. Does that seem odd?

You don't get flybuys points on coles giftcards (unless there is a special promotion going). I don't know about the pre paid mastercard purchases.

You don't earn points when you buy the gift cards, but you do when you redeem them (no different to any other payment method).

Tier miles will be added to your Etihad Guest account in the first week of the next month. You're not able to track them from the flybuys end, but you're welcome to ring us if you think tier miles are missing and we can check what we forwarded to Etihad.

Nope. Only when you spend them.

SYD-ZQN and BNE-VLI are both 6,900 EY miles in Y. That's the equivalent of 17,250 Flybuys points which would ordinarily convert to supermarket savings of $86.25.

Sorry, updating previous advice. For this first month, there will be a slight delay - we now expect the first lot of tier miles to be posted at the end of this week. Apologies for this. After this month, we plan for tier miles to be posted within about 4 or 5 business days of the end of each month.

This should be unaffected; the tier miles should still be based on the activity in the month; just a small delay in crediting the first batch of tier miles.
