Dont even go there. Once it is turned off then unless the new app addresses picture posting direct from the phone (eg the jpg size increased) then I'm out of here except for the rare times I use the PC to post.

Hi Admin,

While I appreciate that this is a process, it is clear that the app was not ready for mass adoption, with key functionality missing, and what functionality is there being still buggy.

My point stands that you should make the "classic" version available in the App Store until such time as these things are resolved.

I have been a loyal Gold level paying member for a large number of years, and the sub standard app is making it difficult for me to participate in these forums freely.

The app should not have passed beta testing in my opinion, and my feeling was that it was rushed out to the detriment of users.

Reverting to the website, or some hack to get the old version back on my phone is neither practical nor a good customer experience. As such, my participation has decreased, and my frustration increased.

If there is no convenient way for me to participate in this forum any longer, then my contribution will continue to decline, to the point where I won't bother at all.

For me to continue participating in this forum, I expect to be able to do the following from the mobile app:
1. PMs
2. Return to the place in the thread where I left it
3. Have subscribed and participated function work properly (no blank pages, unread vs read)
4. Not tell me I have thousands of threads "unread" only to return to them after reading to find they are still "unread"
5. Weird line spacing in posts needs fixing. If I use one <cr> there should only be one line left, not two or three

Some people may have more patience than I, and good luck to them. However I can tell you this is one long term forum member who is annoyed that I can no longer freely contribute to this forum in a way that is convenient to me.

I think the participated tab has been replaced by subscribe.
Lack of a search function is a serious drawback to someone who almost exclusively uses the App

Sure but you are intrinsically hobbled using safari. ..

That page opens instead of main page regardless of what browser I select - Google, Yahoo, Bing, DudkDuckGo OR Firefox - all the same result.

When I select full site the full site opens but I have to input Username / Password every time - PITA -

Hi CE - From the looks of your earlier screen grab, you are in 'private mode' within Safari on your iPhone, which means it will not retain cookies, and so logins and other preferences are lost after each session. Try turning private mode off and see if it gets you what you're after.

At a minimum, with private mode off, and logging in at least once via the normal mode, you should get the option to save your AFF credentials, and then it will be quicker to input them, no matter which mode you are in (i.e. It stays logged in on regular mode, and uses auto-complete for user/password when in private mode).

New version on Android.

Thread Search - that seems to work better than browser.
Eg. A330 brought up threads with more recent posts

And from testing on a few trip reports, jumping to last read appears to work.

Will keep playing with it before loading it back onto phone (just on tablet for now)

A few bugs to report now. Some old some new.
1. Whenever I go to the TTOT thread it opens here for me

Every single time, incredibly frustrating
2. For the last two days pics are appearing like this

Giant zoomed pics which must be tapped to zoom out.
3. For the last few days "likes" I'm giving are not sticking at all. Given the obvious shortcomings of the App I frequently use Safari on my iPhone and posts which I know I have liked on the app do not show as such.

Honestly if anything the App is going backwards at the minute in terms of functionality. I didn't think that was possible but seems it is.

I haven't done anything differently to normal. My software is up to date and my App updates are set to automatically download and install on wi-Fi.

No old App unfortunately

EDIT: latest app update was installed yesterday. Just checked my App Store
Some of the bugs / discarding things already posted can probably be explained by the clumsy update m

Then it must be the app itself. I don't update automatically anymore - I tend to check if there are problems first. And, as we know now, the AFF was a classic. Its been a learning curve for me.

Ah. Another update. That has created more problems.
