New iOS and Android Apps - Bug Reports and Suggestions

Ok I have to say it, the app still sucks!!!

I'm using iPhone 6 and the issues are:

1. Once I log in it automatically logs me out after few minutes, very frustrating!

2. Photos can't be seen at scale, they appear much bigger. This problem happens about 80% of the time.

3. When clicking to view a thread it doesn't start from the first post nor the last post nor the last read post. It just starts from a random post on a random page.

4. Some posts are being cut off when submitting. It usually happens with longer posts. This never happens when I use the full website, only on the app.

5. PMs can be seen but can't be deleted.

6. The search engine doesn't work properly.

I've been waiting patiently for new updates but nothing happens. Seriously, how hard is to fix those issues and make a proper app that works at least as well as the previous one.

I'm having major problems with it insisting I'm not logged in on my iPhone 5s - but I don't find that out until I go to post text or to insert a photo.

On my iPad Air2, it won't even load.

Accessing AFF on the iPad now through the browser but that's no good for a live TR.

boomy and JohnM, I'm using an iPhone 6 and having all of those issues, plus another:

Inability to quote posts in replies (it works sometimes, but not often).

Also, there doesn't appear to be a multi quote option.

Time for a new app developer!

Close the app (by swiping it closed) and re-opening the app should fix that issue.

Thanks, that seems to be working (though it has intermittently worked in the past, just not consistently).

2 and 3 are the biggest issues for me - ongoing no improvement...

The major issue I still have on the Android app is the photo display, where you only get about 1/4 of the photo displaying and cannot pan across.

I'm having the same issues. I would be good to hear from Admin just to confirm that there is a plan to fix these issues.

Nothing much on that front lately but plenty about the paid content

In case this is useful to anyone if you open the App and don't see subscribed posts (orange stars) then you aren't logged in. Swipe up as per Mannej and re-open before typing a post or reply

I'm having the same issues. I would be good to hear from Admin just to confirm that there is a plan to fix these issues.

I got a message from Admin after contacting them directly.

They are aware there are still errors with the app. The developer is still working on it. Admin will only post when they have something new to add / update.

A bizarre thing that happens for me is that after I post a message, that text remains in the entry field if I go to post in the same thread again. It seems not to close off properly after uploading the previous post.

Today, all my posts are missing the last few letters on the last sentence. I type them correcting but once posted some letters vanish. I seems to be when I include a quote.

One issue I forgot to mention ... Threads are often duplicated.

The viewing of photos is really annoying. Often they are oversized so can hardly see at all. And can 'pan' across the image. Otherwise when they are sized correctly to fit the screen you aren't able to click on them to enlarge or zoom. So essentially useless.

That should have said can't ​pan across the image.

Sorry to post this here but I don't know where else it fit.

Has anyone tried to log into the AFF mobile app? It keeps saying I entered the wrong password even though I use the same on I log onto the desktop site.

Is is the mobile only for paid members? Or do I need to register again with a new name and password?

...but to answer your question, only paid AFF members can log in via the AFF mobile app. That's probably why you're experiencing problems.

Yes posting in the app is only for paid members.
