Yep
Same error in IOS

This is actually worse than any of the previous bugs as not only does it limit the ability to contribute. It's actually impossible to browse.

Thought it was just my wifi being slow but same problem on iOS

Yep, I see the problem. What's odd is that (for me) the Android App is fine. The iOS App seems to be OK if not logged in, but once logged in, only 19 posts come up initially and it doesn't load additional posts.

As mentioned in my post earlier this week, we are making some changes to AFF in the coming weeks. So I ask for your patience at this time and I hope that you won't be disappointed ;)

Cannot wait :). Hopefully the app is at the top of the list!! :)

Well, great but it's been almost a week and the app is still having this problem. The effect is that I'm unable to read and therefore unlikely to join the "conversation" by posting.

Seems like continual and ongoing issues with the AFF app (ie. separate of this issue there is the logout error still occurs every other post). As I've said before this is pretty poor for paid membership.

I get as frustrated as anyone with the new app and am still using the old one. But I also know how app development is a costly and time killing process.

With respect, that is not our, the paying customers problem. The new app should have been properly tested before it was released. While I understand there are usually bugs in most products many of these have been around for at least a year.

I was initially understanding and supportive but if I was on the new app I doubt I would bother renewing my sub, esp now I'm not travelling a lot. Sorry to say the new app is just too painful for me for the benefits I get.

I hope it is improved significantly very soon because the tips and user community are generally great.

My Android app is happy to load more threads after the first 19, whether in the general forum, participated or subscribed lists.

My onging issues are the "You are not logged in" error, and the fact that a posting with an oversize photo just hangs .... for ever really, and you have to back right out and check the photo size - no helpful message displays.

Well I do understand that. And when I used the new app I was very frustrated. And agree it should have been labeled as beta and a warning that it was in beta mode before updating.

But the cost of app development is huge. And in this case more than anticipated I suspect. Unfortunately paying a fee doesn't guarantee complete satisfaction.

To be fair, app access is but one small part of a paid subscription to AFF, which can include ad-free browsing, special deals like discounted qantas club membership for non-status passengers and the general good feeling you get from supporting a site that helps support you with great tips. I'm pretty sure when I first joined and took out a subscription there wasn't even an app to speak of. These days, with the prevalence of smart phones (using smaller screens than a laptop), the need for an app or a website that uses responsive design (adapting to different screen sizes) has become more and more important.

The reason the old app ceased to be was because the developer of that app started to impose their own restrictions on how the app could be used, making it uneconomical to use. Many websites have moved away from that developer because of that issue. Unfortunately, that left AFF in a difficult position, with the resultant app unfortunately laden with issues of its own.

The changes coming soon should bring that chapter to a close, but also provide more than just the next chapter in a series. I'm being deliberately vague, but the future is very bright for AFF, you just need to wait a little longer.

Hi
I can only scroll down 19 posts and I can't see any more via the app - iPhone user. Is it a new bug? What can I do to keep using the app?

Latest iPhone and 10.1.1 operating system.
