Unread - all over the place with timing of last post

Argh! I 'accidentally' updated this app through updating all my apps with one click, should have come here searching and having a read beforehand. So annoying, I am finding the app a PIA to use, has anyone succeeded in rolling back? Same problems as everyone else.

This just happened to me also - it's horrid !

Has there been any official update from admin on all the feedback?

I'm annoyed with myself that I'm not a frequent backer-upper which means I don't have a current enough backup to roll back to! - whilst at the beginning it was at least stable (but really difficult to follow and use compared to the old version) it is now becoming less stable, every time I load Unread/timeline it is flashing on and off intermittently for about 10 seconds before displaying duplicates.

Would love to see a rollback whilst the functional (e.g. lack of participated) and instability is worked through!

i didn't upgrade the app, but now have the new one on both ipad and iphone

Same boat with mass app updates. I can't get AFF app to work terribly well , no posts load after clicking on a topic, little clunky and UI isn't polished.
I'm sure admin is on top of it all but it does seem premature for a mass release without a warning.

I find the images often don't load, even ones I have posted myself.

I use the 'real' (paid, unbranded) Tapatalk for a few other forums. It had a major update today to version 5, and is really really good. It's fast, loads threads at exactly where you left off, has the 'participated' function and doesn't double up posts. It also has a nice 'night reading mode' which darkens the screen for easy reading in low light.
I hate to say it, but maybe AFF should go back to Tapatalk?

Thats good to hear. A few months ago they did an upgrade that was dreadful. Their next update stripped most of that back.

Currently am also testing the beta version of apple iphone firmware. Keyboard is much better as the letters are just a tiny bit more spaced out.

Wasn't it beta tested by some AFFers? And there was a 'warning' from Admin - or more precisely, advice that the new version was available for download. That's how I knew to 'update' the application (which, like many, I sorta regret).

Yes there was beta testing

I reported a few bugs and requested functionality changed. I use the unread component of the app and as far as I can see the bugs were never fixed

On the -ve side new Tapatalk is including inline adds that look like forum posts to outbrain/buzzfeed style sites

New iPhone interface is really annoying. I use the unread a lot. Pages flickering all the time, doesn't seem to recognize threads that have been read. Really dislike this interface please roll back to earlier version

I can't find the sub-forum topics for "travel insider tips" ... can't find topics, threads or posts.

I don't like bagging AFF or the creator of this app ... however, the change has not been good.

Its a shame as I suspect it has cost a few thousand. Maybe the developers need to be made aware of this thread because if they are a contractor they have to 'make good'. And now I need the search function. Its gone.

For those on Android (not many I suspect) due to the versioning issue, the old version can still be found under the Apps-All tab of Google Play if you uninstalled it.

Will be going back to that version.

Hi Admin - another bug to report I'm afraid, on opening threads I've already read the app is taking me back to post #1 rather than the last post I read.

This has only just started happening in the last hour :(

Also had this problem intermittently.

Am having this issue as well in not taking me to the last read post. Also when I go to the subscribed option none appear.
