Cruiser Elite isn't flying on points the way to go!
On QF I do JASAs inside Australia. For Kris I haven't seen the equivalent of JASAs to earn real status but we are flying quite a bit with SQ.
Good luck with the Savers!
Got any special ideas on points creation??

Oh I love it - just love it - and I love flying SQ to and fro to China up the pointy end - 3 if not 4 return JSavers PEK or PVG between now and mid June - then J Savers to AMS June 18 for Cruiserette and myself - back out of CPH all thanks to AMEX pts - gotta love that

Unfortunately no - like most others here just maximize credit card usage is about as much as I know.

Last 2 years have really missed my annual MEL-SIN-NRT-LAX and return milk run - god did I ever give the Charles Heidsieck a hiding on that expedition.

Just been on SQ website looking for flights to Europe J, latter half of this year
Very, very few Savers showing and still at 75,000 points not 80,000 AMS etc or 95,000 LHR CDG etc. ????!!!
I am struggling to get my head round this.

They are not opening up the 388 or 77W routes until after March I believe. That is why you are not seeing increased saver availability

you wait, on the 8th March the traffic from here to the website will cause it to meltdown and it will take them a couple of months to sort it out again.

am getting scared. have a **** load of points so am just going to book it.
KLN - Syd - BCN - J points - Zurich - Sing (stopover for a couple of nights on my own) - SYD - J

Mr. KLN - Syd - Delhi - MH J -
Delhi - Cairo - Tunisia - BCN (Paying for J)
CDG - SYD ( J points)

not going to bother with waitlisting. have points, and this is the dream trip we've been planning for awhile.
Spain F1 - Monaco F1 - friends in Switzerland - Le Mans - home.

have to complete Melbourne and Malaysia (J-Points X 3) first.

have certain amounts of points with both MH ad KF already. had to top up KF substantially, but realised that previous F1 trips to SG had transferred too many points, not taking into account 15% online redemption discount, so this working out to advantage now.

Quite simple really.

SQ have announced a new set of rates, and increased availibity of Savers in J &F on the newer planes, and have given notice od this. It is not an immediate change.

Till then the OLD rates and availibity of Savers still apply

J Savers on the 77W/A380 is very much welcomed, however I think that it works out about the same as the old Standard fares :shock:

Not so long ago I used 255,000 miles for MEL-SIN-ZUR return and that was a standard award
Now looking at the NEW fares its 255,000 but with a saver award..IF the website is showing what I clicked correctly :-|

That's correct. My email says booking to commence from March 8, with flights/travel after April 1.

Nope, your calculations are a bit off ;)

Under the current award, a standard AUS-EUR in J is 150K one way (300k return)

When the new award kicks in, a saver AUS-ZRH in J is 95K one way (180K return).

These are pre-15% online discount.

So we won't really know how many J savers will be available until then....

Im happy that the *A South West Pacific awards are unchanged - I think this is the best deal in Krisflyer (for me anyway).

$130 SGD for taxes for J SYD-AKL, with any other hop within NZ included. Not a bad deal, and i'm surprised they are still on offer. In fact, still quite surprised that PER-AKL is still on offer.

That is correct.

J Savers have always been limited in number. And while J Savers are now to be available on all flights, what will most likely remain is that they will still be limited in number per eligible flight.

I doubt very much that vast numbers will be made available....and I very much doubt that ALL waitlists will suddenly transform into J Savers.

I havea witlist made some time agao, and so I am hopeful that it may transform. But I am hopeful rather than expecting!!

I actually doubt that many people know and actually use this bargain feature for SWP awards. Maybe only AFFers and FTers do this. Most general public here focus on QFF and also VFF instead.

There seems to be plenty of availability on PER-AKL as well, on the dates I've been looking at recently there has been better availability in business class than economy. Luckily not many people know about how cheap it is to buy miles with Diamond Club and then redeem them on this route.

For FFPs that are based on the continental zones system, SWP awards are naturally quite good (for most part). AA awards in SWP are notable for these, and even better if you start from PER. (One "disadvantage" of being an East Coaster.)

Unfortunately for me, my interest in SWP travel is limited. Well, a nice trip to NZ once in a while might be good (haven't been to NZ for yonks now), but I'm not big on the Pacific Islands, except Fiji when the NAN run still existed (and since I've been to Fiji, less so).

Also, SWP redemptions on *A starting on the East Coast means mostly travelling on NZ. You have to choose carefully otherwise you simply end up with S2S inferior product. I wouldn't exactly call that the best use of points.

Narrowing the table down to the specific places I'll be travelling all for one way J Savers excluding on-line discounts:

BNE-MNL Was 45,000 miles, soon 55,000
BNE-DXB Was 72,500 miles, now unchanged
BNE-ZRH Was 130,000 miles now 95,000

I am happy that J savers will be available on the BNE-ZRH route now. So effectively I was having to use a Saver/Standard redemption for BNE-SIN-ZRH , so good savings on that sector provided there is availability.

Flights into MNL and DXB use the same combination of aircraft, yet the middle east is unchanged. I guess that has to do with popularity and yields.

With this analysis I think the net effect will be a reduction in my total miles used over the year due to the J savers on A380 into the Euro zone.

Based on the above I don't have to panic about making bookings in this window period prior to the new redemption table.

MEL-PEK / PVG J Savers increase 16% - x 10 return each year = 170,000 additional KF pts required to maintain current travel patten - or an extra 2 x ret J flts MU or GA at $2,200 - no biggie one way or another.

Yes, we all impacted differently. Is the trade off you might have more availability and flexibility with J Savers on 777 and A380?

Sounds like a reasonable impact on your plans.
