New Look QF MMB

Not a domestic only flight, included an international connection.

That was why I was concerned, was a bit of a shock - all one booking but only one flight obvious In the email.

Not so hard to include both, but I guess it's QF we are talking about, isn't it. ;)

Sent from my iPhone using AustFreqFly

My boss asked me why she only had an email re one leg of the flight; I had to point out the e-ticket at the bottom. Sounds like something that could be improved.

Can anyone help re this problem...it may be the Luddite in me.... but I was looking at the cost of upgrading the flight to J...yes, using cash!....but the only changes that are offered are different forms of economy...I can't seem to get the business class to show...is anyone else having this problem??

AFAIK you can't do that online, you may need to call Qantas to get that done (if it's possible at all). Seat selection on MMB is for selecting seats in your booked cabin only.

Can anyone see how to add an ABN to a booking? The old link is no longer there.

Click on "Edit" above passenger details. This takes you to the old update contacts screen.

I did that, still couldnt see anywhere to add the ABN...better take a second look in case I'm going blind though.

Hmm, on some bookings the link is on the main MMB page. But not on others.

It feels very "upsell" to me.

However, some of the upsell items aren't available if you go through to try and purchase (example is exit rows on 737 Trans Tasman services).
You would have thought that this was checked prior to launch.

Spot on mannej.

Slowly getting used to new Manage Your Booking and go straight to the part that needs focus ignoring the rest.

My wife had a few flights over the weekend on 1 booking, she was flying into one port but the plane landed late, hence missing her connecting flight.
QF automatically changed her to the next flight, however from just looking at MMB alone it was hard to figure out where the new flight was, and the cancelled flight, in the old layout it was very clear, with the old flight greyed out and new flight details mentioned.

A quick trip to the QF service desk fixed that with boarding pass already printed and waiting!

Just checking that FF status baggage allowances are not reflected in the baggage section?

I queried QF about the status message under the passenger's name (eg QANTAS Club Silver i) that when you hover over it pops up a message saying "Check your Frequent Flyer allowance". But to do that you have to go up to just under the Baggage heading and click on the link to check allowances. So all a bit hands-off from QF.

It all feels very disjointed to me. If they couldn't script the baggage allowance to automatically register any additional allowances from QC or FF status (and I don't know why not), the least they could've done is hotlink that pop-up message to "check allowances", instead of forcing you to manually navigate somewhere else. This is not elegant programming.

Did the old MMB show status allowance?

Did the old MMB show status allowance?

Possibly. But that's not really relevant as this is a new MMB and it should be improved. If the system can recognise that someone has status and insert warning ! symbol, why not just put in the baggage allowance instead?

It actually doesn't recognise if someone has status or not - I have a booking of a NB that I can see, and it still has the same ! and message about checking Frequent Flyer Baggage Allowance.
As for the previous MMB, I don't remember if it did or not, but I agree an improvement would be nice.

I do have a question that is off topic though - if you have a DOM-INT-INT-DOM booking (QF), and you upgrade one of the domestic legs, do you enjoy the upgraded allowance for the whole trip, or for that upgraded leg only. That isn't covered on the QF checked baggage section.

In my case MMB shows QANTAS Club Silver where it suggests I check my allowance. So that means it is pulling up my FF and QP memberships, when only the FF would be entered for the booking. So suggests a query returning person specific details for that little memory jogger message, so why not take it one step further (eg QANTAS Club Silver Dom=1x32kg).
