So if you are a frequent flyer that has to fly a lot down the back of the bus they halve the amount of points one can earn and then go and throw a promo like this to all and sundry. Good to see QF looking after its loyal frequent flyers over and above the occasional flyer.

OMG who does their proof reading??? Work experience students again in charge of the website? Maybe it is supposed to sound 'foreign and interesting' and we've all got it wrong. :D

Hey come on, those poor guys on the 457 visas can't get every English word right!

My TA currently has a booking held for me from a few days ago which I haven't paid for yet. I've just registered for the promotion - if I go ahead and pay for the booking now, am I eligible for the double points?

If not ticketed yet, I would suggest you tell your TA to start a new booking. I got caught up in a similar situation when QF started flying through DXB and they were running a double points promotion. I didn't get the points, because the TA had my booking on hold and ticketed during the promo period, so my booking was deemed ineligible.

Better something then nothing...
Anyway need to fly QF Dom, at least until another serious airline will join the game.

Thanks defurax, that was exactly the info I was looking for. I'll see if the TA can make a new booking without losing the flights I need and at the same price (or cheaper!).

I'm still being offered double ponts on the QF web site main page ;)

And will continue to do so until your cache is refreshed.

Thanks; but its quite OK with me :) . Else I may forget what a bunch of absolute plonkers QF IT are (and 'marketing'; I assume there are dotted lines of responsibility).

Thank God the aircraft and crew are ramrod straight.

VA has caught up with their own double-points promo: "book between 6 - 13 September 2014 to earn DOUBLE Velocity Points on all fare classes when you travel between 15 September 2014 and 26 March 2015 on all Virgin Australia operated flights with a VA flight number".

Do I still get my "status bonus" on top of the double points offer?

Do I still get my "status bonus" on top of the double points offer?

Bonus points are calculated on the base rate: Bonus Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies and for the purposes of this promotion does not include any Status Bonus that may apply for tier members.

This offer doesn't affect your status bonus.

Why for a Bronze member in the lowest flight category (0-750miles)
means they get their 400 points double to 800 points (which is what they would have earnt anyway thanks to the minimum guarantee.)

(Silver gets 1000, Gold 1100 and Platinum 1200 - so still some benefit for elites)

How many bonus points would I get for the following itinerary as a WP, considering base points are not visible in the new calculator and it is a points guarantee booking?

MEL-SYD Discount Economy - 800pts
SYD-MEL Flex Economy - 1200pts
