In this new one, at about 2:35 mark there's no mention of pulling the mask down

Those are 787 masks and don’t require the mask to be pulled down to activate. In fact the video says oxygen will flow when you take a breath.

How about “Listen to this, or you might die”.

These videos have progressively been becoming longer, and more marketing than being the safety device that they are supposed to be. Longer means that aircraft even miss take off opportunities at times. The important stuff is being drowned in pointless dross.

What happened to being quick and too the point. Just the needed info, none of this distracting fluff.

Very nostalgic. The safety video for Intenrational flights is always longer than domestic, will be inetresting to see the shorter domestic edit - although Ive no flight til April

Tedium touched with self-impressed cleverness. By the time they eventually reached the ”please pay attention” I’d already become bored and was switching it off... I have no idea how it ends but I’ll take your word for it that it’s watchable... right up there with ‘Married at First Sight’ and ‘MasterChef’

In the last video, the girl in Brighton on the slide said "lean forward" but the visuals were her leaning backwards.

This bugged me every single time! Surely someone would have noticed and called for another take in the filming. At least she left her bag behind.

I remember applying that heavy blue eyeshadow in the 70’s.

The piece is a nostalgic look at air travel in general through the years, well done Qantas.

While we saw the "extended" version the shorter one is about 3 mins.

Well that's a relief.
I was dreading 8 minutes and 20 seconds of that on each and every taxi.
Might be ok in SYD where the taxi often feels longer than the flight, but not in PER or ADL for example.
Although if QF started serving champagne on boarding in J on domestic flights I might enjoy an extended safety video!

They've done a great job with this.

I love the way they potrayed the 60's, 70's and 80's. Those hairstyles are on point.

Very apt way to celebrate the centenary.

Qantas stands for Qantas and Northern Territory Aerial Services but the plague on the plane shows without the s, which is correct.

I hope the music track is toned down for the production version, it was so loud I found it hard to hear what the voice track was saying.
