I'm trying this 2010 Cab Sauv from the Fo - still trying to decide what I think of it...

Had an urge for a pinot. Found this at the local BWS for very reasonable money!

Last night's offerings with JohnM's signature slow-cooked ox-tail:
Brown Hill, E of Margaret River town, moving up onto the laterites, is noted for big reds from a dry-grown vineyard. Stella Bella (or at least one of their vineyards, the old Rosabrook) is nearby but closer to MR with sandier soils.
Both excellent wines. The Bill Bailey was a monster in 2008 (14.8%) but was not hot. The Tempranillo was about the best Australian example I can recall. Excellent body and mouthfeel. Often Australian Tempranillos to me can be a bit thin and weedy and lack character. This one had it in spades.
PJM rated everything F* awesome.... Couldn't disagree with that .
Not usually a fan of semi-sweet riesling but this went down surprisingly well at the local Thai.
