Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

I heard this song whilst driving 2 days ago.I blame this thread for being unable to get it out of my head since.beside you might enjoy a young Jimmy Barnes-

Last night's offerings with JohnM's signature slow-cooked ox-tail:

Brown Hill, E of Margaret River town, moving up onto the laterites, is noted for big reds from a dry-grown vineyard. Stella Bella (or at least one of their vineyards, the old Rosabrook) is nearby but closer to MR with sandier soils.

Both excellent wines. The Bill Bailey was a monster in 2008 (14.8%) but was not hot. The Tempranillo was about the best Australian example I can recall. Excellent body and mouthfeel. Often Australian Tempranillos to me can be a bit thin and weedy and lack character. This one had it in spades.

PJM rated everything F* awesome...;). Couldn't disagree with that :cool:.

Young but fully formed... With lamb chops.

Quite drinkable now, tannins still bitter. Needs a a good sleep for 3-4 years.
