And I was worried the 2006 I was going to drink last night (but didn't) was too young! How was it?
I really like the 707 amd thr Magill so sounds like I'll enjoy the St Henri.I am far from a wine aficionado, but I do like it. Definitely a complex flavour and happy I let my remaining two bottles sit. I did do the Epiqure Penfolds night at Rockpool and also New Year's Eve at Magill Estate so had a reasonably recent sample of Penfolds wines. My favourite was the 707, but I also highly rate the Magill Estate. Also had a 2012 389 last night which was very nice, another 5 of them to sit on.
Ask me to describe any of these in terms of berries and leather etc and I can't do. I just know what I like.
I also have a 2006 and 2008. I had 3 of the 2010 so gave it a go. As I said above, I'm no wine guru and really only recently got into it. The way I look at it, I could be dead tomorrow so I'm going to enjoy what time I do have. Although my girlfriend did get me a 1976 (my birth year) so I hope I make it to 50!
Jousting sticks?Very good taste I see.But I will raise you one-
A very nice drop.10 down,2 to go.
Glad you survived the seven year itch. Obviously a "keeper" like the St Henri. This was our wedding red. The old man procured cases of it from the Burnett Club in Bundaberg (AFFers think Bert Hinkler) for the princely sum of $5.99 a bottle! Hope it has the desired effect.Been looking forward to an excuse to have one of these, our 13th anniversary seemed like a good reason View attachment 44082
Can you cope with Reidel glasses and raw meat though?
