Lunch Easter Saturday with good friends on the Gold Coast.



We decanted both bottles for an hour.



We both got oak and dark fruit in the Wolf Blass, but could not taste the mint. Had home made pesto and dips with it

The RSW wasn't as good but was surprisingly smooth for a young Shiraz. Nice to have with lunch.

Lunch was Webber cooked chicken. Lamb, salat and turkish bread with home made garlic rub.

I have most of the vintages 2005 - 2012 but not upset that it's largely a cult wine unloved by the unwashed masses.

Not a huge blue cheese fan but agree it is a fine match with a Muscat or a Tokay.

Still partial to the NZ Sav Blanc, but cant beat the Au Reds

Decided to give one a try before putting the rest away.

Very smooth, lots of flavour, almost toffeeish. I don't expect it to need too many years before I can enjoy the remainder.
