Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

My first experience of the options game was in 1977 when I joined the Hunter Valley Wine Club. Not to be confused with the HVW Society.
Always a dinner meeting with a blind wine presented towards the end of dinner-always at a local vineyard.
Basically 5 questions asked about the wine-first was always grape variety. Then usually 2 questions on the area-first general eg NSW,Vic,SA or France,USA,Australia then you had to answer the specific area.4th question was year of vintage and last came the maker and specific wine.
Scores were kept and at the end of the year the highest score gained the title of Taster of the year.

How is it?

Let's see, I opened it about 30-45 min. ago ... Contemplated decanting it, but couldn't be bothered! Poured the glass in the photo, then gave it a vigorous swirl, then left it 15 min and gave it another swirl. Very powerful nose! On the palate, dark berries, coffee, vanilla ... Very long finish. Nice, but was expecting more. Suspect it will be better with a bit of decanting and/or food.

Glad somebody's had a look at it. The recent DM deal was 2 for $50 but if it tastes as anticipated a good buy either way. Don't drink a lot of Wolf Blass so interested to here anyone else's opinion too.
Haven't tried this shiraz but the grey label cab shiraz is decent.

I don't recall the DM deal. Was it a My DM deal? Checked before I bought it and it was high $30's.

May have been but not certain. Definitely $300 for 12 which qualified for free delivery. Woolies were doing a deal at the time in conjunction with DMs so used their code and got 2 Tintara shiraz 2012 in conjunction, free:mrgreen:. There is no cost to join the MY DM or WOW memberships:idea:
