There are just so many brilliant wines from the Langhe and the area has much to offer but good ones are not cheap in Australia. Barolos need 6-8 years. Try an Elio Altare Barolo (had a bottle of the 1999 for my birthday in Rome this year and it was extraordinary) , or wines from vineyards of Serralunga, or my general favourites, most wines from Bussia. Gaia Barbarescos are fabulous on the palate and wallet but there are quite a few others from the town that are worth looking up for the example Pio Cesare. Something more reasonable in price, a Giacomo Conterno Barbara d'alba.
There seem to be quite a number of bottles on the go in the background?
Seriously good retort AC.......it has me laughing for a while this cool sunday morning. Nice to wake up feeling one hundred percent after a 21'st last night. Great fun, four VB pots at the Coach and Horses in Ringwood and off to a great start. No, Steady. That was one of a huge swap of wines that went down. That was one of two Serrat SVs that Alzoam picked up, one from each of me and AnonymousCoward.
Ha,ha!! Good spot, Beefarmer! And good come back, AC! Alzoam and I were just out of shot. You know the big dude. AC, was the generous wine bringer of the Barolo. And Viridianne is the one adding class to the picture.

Thanks for the update on the faces. It gives the rest of us folks an introduction as to how young the up and coming alcoholics really are. Not a God damn wrinkle on any of you. See what happens when you keep doing this for deacdes. You end up looking like me, or worse, Steady. Or worse than that, Whininganddining. The ultimate prize for seriously over enjoying is vedder50. In fact, Wozza, you are getting that way now with your new picture. What, starting to regurgitate now are we so you enjoy the same mouthful twice.
Great laugh this morning Wozza, thankyou.
I take it you are an Eastern sububs boy Beefarmer. You shop at Nicks in the area I spent 30 years growing up in and now you are visiting the family eating and watering hole. As its Sunday and getting late its Kays muscat for me.Serious

very good call rug. I grew up in Maribyrnong, had a bachelors life in Ascot Vale Travencore the headed of to the East and have been at Templestowe for ages. Dinner at the inlaws at east burwood was enjoyable, and quick, and fun. Tonights wine was obviously a big disappointment but I did pick up that Pedro Jimenez that the redbigot mentioned at nicks, so maybe that watching the Aussir bastekballers could be a nice little settler. Have some family health issues to help with tomorrow which could become interesting but it all works itself out in the end. You've heard all the expressions to do with mortality - we all get to the same destination but we take different routes. That I like. But today I thought of one that I have never heard or read before. Life is like reading a unusual book in that we all know what's on the final page but we never know how many pages there are in each book.I take it you are an Eastern sububs boy Beefarmer. Have you got a taped speech that you probably made ? I think it would be a hoot. Charles Bukowski hey....leukeamia got him. Who would have guessed that one? "Find something you like and let it kill you". Nice quote, different ending. That's a very odd bit of synchronicity BF, I was actually at my elder son's 21st last night and you're bang on, I felt like one of those wrinkled tortoises found only on the Galapagos Islands alongside all that taut and nubile flesh. Had to make do with an incandescently bad rum and coke as I was on driving duties, still, I saved myself a hangover today and actually got some meaningful work done around the place! Don't worry about the uncreased complexions on the young folk, couple more bottles of Barolo and they'll have the visage of Charles Bukowski, it's just around the corner!
No need to rush it if it has not been opened. It will last like a good cognac or single malt whisky many years. If it has been opened and you reseal it along time. Generally mine are consumed in 6 to 12 months with no real taste difference. If it is a rare or grand muscat longer in all areas. CheersI have a Kay Brothers Muscat (correct
ed the auto correct this time drron...) that I picked up at the CD in about 2010 - Should I be in rush to drink it?

That's my collection of empty bottles of fancy wines we've drunk.
Sorry, I thought that the corks meant that they were still being drunk - I might keep bottles myself, but not corks
