Ive not been to Gouchos in years. Still amazing?
Will let you know after we eat
Back in my carnivore days Gauchos was amaze-balls. Vegetables were served, but they were essentially a garnish.Nice, but not amazing
A nice start at Gauchos with Boomy, penegal, RooFlyer and Aeolus

Luigi Bosca is eternally ruined for me after a very ordinary cellar door showing; although that may have something to do with the Brazilians who fell asleep at the counter as we were tasting. The wines were fine though, as you'd expect from the largest producer in Argentina; enjoy in good health.
If you have a taste for Malbec from Lujan de Cuyo then try Achaval Ferrer, they presented some of the best wines I have ever tasted, Malbec or no.
Some wine from today's Rockford visit- all lovely
Museum tastings of '07 BP and '06 R&S

It was an exceptional day, thanks Buzz and RooFlyer for organising
There has been an AFF tour of Rockfords for the last 3 or more years that I recommend you think about attending- it is normally in April when both the basket press and Black Shiraz are still available, but it is a private tour that has previously included some special wines. Finally made my first visit to Rockford this weekend. Moppa was the pick of the bunch for me (with the exception of basket pressed and black sparkling which were sold out). Fantastic place and I'll be sure to make the annual pilgrimage earlier in the year in future!
All up was a fantastic few days tasting at a total of 47 wineries across McLaren Vale, Barossa and Clare. Some early standouts from tastings were the Samuel's Gorge, Penny's Hill, Turkey Flat, Rusden, Hewitson, Ballycroft and Kilikanoon. Although I have a lot of tasting notes to go through so that list may be subject to change.

The 96 Black Shiraz was just spectacular.
I stick to the reds, my wife the whites.
Not in ours. 95% of the wines my wife and I drink are red (rose on hot days). Occasionally we'll have a riesling, case in point last night, when I opened a 2002 Leo Buring Eden Vallley Riesling that I loved, but my wife could take or leave. Fortunately we had friends over that helped me share it.A common thread in all our lives and long shall it remain...
Not in ours.
