Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Mexican, pretty decent drop. Not sure why I was surprised.

2nd night out in Tulum and the restaurant had run out of its local stock... had to settle for this.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tonight. At 14.8%, I think the strongest wine I've had (bar fortified). Good job I have another 5 bottles in the rack ;)

Obviously not consumed much Barossa Shiraz then ;) 14.8% is stupidly high for a Pinot though. That fruit must have been so over-ripe...just not what I'd be wanting in a Pinot.

I kept my eye out for this wine following some positive comments on AFF - I think it was NT the BNE lunches or meet ups.
Very nice savoury PN - similar style to Serrat imo but lighter- say 75% of a Serrat. I will happily buy more if I see some at a good price.

No, I haven't.
And yes, it is. Very dark for a Pinot. I enjoyed it though.

I think Krug is pretty good. I expect to have a few glasses later on this month and next.
Any thoughts on Robert Oatley Four In Hand 2015 Barossa Shiraz. My brother mentioned it recently.

Found this in down town Boston so thought why not. Whilst not one of their premium wines it sure is velvet smooth and goes down a treat. I had the bottle open for about 2 hours before pouring a glass.

I highly recommend asking for recommendations when in bottle shops over there. We haven't been steered wrong yet and have tasted some nice California and Oregon wines.

Going to a wine dinner with some friends this evening. My offerings for this evening. If I remember, I'll get a photo of the line-up. Expecting some good wines tonight including some red Burgundy and Barolo. I'm also told some old Australian Shiraz should be making an appearance.

Another past it's peak.but then it is 30 years old.
The surprise packet.Still would last a few years but sadly the last of it's line.Stiil dark colour and a full bodied wine.
