Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Dinner at Raita Noda Chef's Table last night in Surry Hills with the matching wines.

Standouts was a Boll & Cie Blanc de Blanc Champagne (no photo) and the Bannockburn 1314 AD Chardonnay. They went perfectly with the dishes

bought a 6 pack of this from cellarone, the first glass taste like a normal dry red , bold , dark chocolate, second glass are more enjoyable, sweetness comes along , this is only the second sparkling red i had so i'm not sure how to judge this, the sparkling effect does pull me off a little. i guess this need time like champagne?
 
My weekend wine bottles on their way to the recycling bin. I commented on the Serrat a few days ago, the Blue Poles was a delight to drink

I think I've got three bottles left of my 2011 Allouran Steady, I keep opening one every 6 months or so to check but have come to the conclusion that they still need more time but, different strokes:).

Here's a pic of one of my recently tasted reds and one that I haven't had the privilege of trying before:

It's the Noon 2009 Reserve Shiraz, raise the red lantern I say! There is no mistaking that this is a potent drop, the nose gives away the 16% alcohol and has notes not unlike Galway Vintage Port, the fruit leaps forth. Black as night, there is a slight cloudiness when brought up to the light, perhaps less filtered than most, either way an inky suspension of goodness. Hmmm fleshy, lush, polished, as plush as black velvet, the abundant fruit is viscous and coats the mouth like a pastille-flavoured oil slick. Sweetly intense without cloying, red and black currants washed over with vanillan, little tannic influence, a long , lingering aftertaste with some alcoholic warmth, in a word: sumptuous....
