Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

In the Barossa, not many producers seem to make a straight grenache . Rockford used to ;)
This '16 is a fine easy drinking wine, perfect with food. Very fine tannins, medium finish. I'm happy to be drinking it. View attachment 128620

There are quite a bit of straight grenache from barossa that i can think of right now without google, if you still couldn't found any, let me know and i will give you a few names.

What is it about drinking wine on a Sunday afternoon? A brief reprieve from the busy busy of life.
A Vinomofo purchase. Drinking the 2012 in 2018. Very pleasant with biscotti, nectarine and a faint citrus finish. Very thankful to have another 11 in the rack. Wifey is drinking it so it must be ok.

The Mosquito Hill Pinot was unlike any other I have had, I really enjoyed it. The Old Adam is drinking really well, the Wendouree was nice even though it is still a baby. The DM was beautiful

Finished the day with pizza and Pinot followed by a Hunter Shiraz impersonating a Pinot

Something a little different tonight.

I had this in Japan last year and was very taken by it, so I brought a bottle home (along with a red that really threw the cat among the pigeons at the tasting group - just ask @Daver6 ;):p.)

Back label for the Japanese-readers.

I knocked up this to have with it: salmon pan-fried in olive oil+butter, finished with lemon juice and capers, saute asparagus+mini roma tomatoes with fennel seeds, steamed baby potato with sour cream and cracked black pepper. Not a bad match, even if I do say so myself :).

The wine? Lovely nose: clearly Chardonnay - soft, yet not floral. On the palate - fresh and juicy, with really good length. Quite unique in my experience. The sum-up in a single word: delicious :).

Just soooo damn drinkable! I want more!

Currently at home so back to reds.Decided I would try all my 97-99 reds.found this one which I am sure I left unopened by mistake.
