Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Purchased this in 2014 via cellardoor.co for $13.50/bottle. This has to be one of the best cheapies ever. An excellent vintage has played a part here but this is amazing QPR. I don't think I'd be disappointed if I had paid $50 for this. Why did I only buy a 6 pack :)

They age beautifully for many years, far beyond their DBD.

Nope Ms. B loves it, tried to get more but all gone only have 2 or 3 bottles.

Also not sure the scores are that low?
I thought Dan Murphys has it underwraps, and Boomy mentioned recently in this thread it's available in different vintages at Dan Murphys listed. It may be worth checking, I couldn't find any in SA.

Both Halliday and Hooke gave it 93pts which is quite low for their usual overly generous scoring.

Hooke did taste it again in Feb 21 and gave 96 this time, up from 93 in Dec 19 which is a bit puzzling. I would expect someone like him to recognise the potential of a wine going years ahead, let alone in 15 months.

It was the Chardonnay (no longer available).

Franca tasting - Rougeot was the highlight, shame the JL Jamet wasn't a Rotie.

Did not like the Bel Air.

but JL Jamet CdR still good? of course Cote Rotie would have been better and WOTN, but much more expensive

It was great dinner, brilliant wines match with good food.

Total of 20 bottles (two of each) drank between 12 people (equal number of boys and girls). No wonder some struggled to walk to their Uber rides at the end of the night :)
20/12 = 1250ml each of mostly Premier/Grand Cru = nice :)

about time - so you'll dump Rockford now? :) had Joseph or Castagna?
What you talkin bout Willis?

why is it about time?
why should Rockford be dumped now?
what did they do to you?

i don’t understand, you did add an emoji but are you suggesting their sparkling Shiraz is no good? Or just that there are better?

is there something wrong with me because I disagree with tWF and like Rockford wine 🤔
Who cares what critics say, they all have their preferences no matter how hard they try to pretend to be objective. I reckon if you get Rockford SBS at CD price then you’re doing well. It’s a brilliant sparkling Shiraz despite the fact we liked Seppelt more (which is more expensive btw).
I agree, my post was a bit tongue in cheek... I have some of the Seppelt but haven't tried one yet - looking forward to it though.

I was surprised by the post, I probably just misunderstood it.
yes, well now that you should've calmed down and hopefully checked the context, maybe you've realised that it was just about time that @boomy had tried Seppelt Show Sparkling, and finding it better than Rockford, perhaps then dumping the latter for the former to give me - can't believe you haven't tried one yet either :)

How did the collotte compare with the pegasus? I'm assuming you picked it up from the buzz wine sales a few months back?

I prefer the cab. But I enjoyed the cleanskin(shiraz)more than the labelled shiraz.
the hoddles creek cab and merlot was a easy drink , no greenish horrible characters,I blended myself a glass of cab merlot, just not enough depth like the blue poles, which I also do blended a glass of cab Franc merlot from the reserve bottles, which is quite interesting.

Looks pretty interesting in being able to do the side by side oak comparison
