Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

The Eileen Hardy 2016 was an amazing wine. Lots of recommendations to cellar for a few years but drinking now was still fabulous. Blackcurrant and chocolate in abundance to this (very amateur) palate.
The De Iulis Semillon was decent but paled in comparison
It's still available I believe at Dan Murphys as a underwraps.

Our new favourite Sparkling Shiraz (sorry Rockford).

That's a big call! I have to try this now, as I love Rockford!

is there something wrong with me because I disagree with tWF and like Rockford wine 🤔

Who cares what critics say, they all have their preferences no matter how hard they try to pretend to be objective. I reckon if you get Rockford SBS at CD price then you’re doing well. It’s a brilliant sparkling Shiraz despite the fact we liked Seppelt more (which is more expensive btw).

I agree, my post was a bit tongue in cheek... I have some of the Seppelt but haven't tried one yet - looking forward to it though.

I was surprised by the post, I probably just misunderstood it.

Glad people are saying the Seppelt is nice. I got some as the higher value bottle in the recent mystery pack and was a bit bummed given I've never found a sparkling red I've liked. Maybe this one!

It was great dinner, brilliant wines match with good food.

Total of 20 bottles (two of each) drank between 12 people (equal number of boys and girls). No wonder some struggled to walk to their Uber rides at the end of the night :)

I know it's $50 now but they often have a 'special'
Originally I paid something, but then I got the 2nd year for $1 or free.

They do have some really good member deals, and the business is literally 2 minutes from me.
When I go collect wine, I end up talking to the team and other members doing pick ups all the time. Super friendly, but not much customer service online.

It's based right next to Penfolds Magill Estate.

It used to be 2 minutes from me too but I moved away from the Eastern suburbs

How come?
I like the East! My brother is at Unley, and that's probably the only other side I would consider.

I'm building a new home around the corner from Penfolds, but honestly it's been difficult to find land recently.

Getting OT but the house wasn't what I needed and have found a perfect place right next to Unley ;)

Purchased this in 2014 via cellardoor.co for $13.50/bottle. This has to be one of the best cheapies ever. An excellent vintage has played a part here but this is amazing QPR. I don't think I'd be disappointed if I had paid $50 for this. Why did I only buy a 6 pack :)
