Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Re Wine books. There are dozens. I’ll try to find time on WE to photograph them and put them in several tranches. Question: should I open a new thread? I guess so.

Followup. I’ve found a local fellow who’s training to be a sommelier so rather than stuff around with posting dozens of individual books, I plan to offer the lots to him first.

Sorry to disappoint.

Bierzo (Spain) is the region, Mencia is the grape (and by the looks of it, someone in the background is showing interest). It's a region I discovered by accident but love. I think it's great value for money. This was $30 at the Re Store in Perth. Relatively full bodied wine with lots of herbs and spices and some blue fruits. Good tannins and weight and in a great spot right now.

Some members will recognise this one as part a recent QF wines pack. Made by Fowles, their CD used to be mandatory stopover when driving up the Hume Hwy back in the days I was living in MEL.

This 2008 Shiraz aged well and definitely in its drinking window. Allow some time to decant and it will open up nicely.
