Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Lunch time wine at the cricket:

The four of us at the table drank both before passing judgement. Admittedly one of them have no taste or smell :o

The two of us that have all facilities agreed that the Patchwork had a better (fuller) nose and a marmalade & fruit middle of the tongue taste both with more astringency.

We ended up getting a second bottle :D

Im curious every time I see the Patchwork, given the nature of my business. Will add it to my Must Try list.

From the 'you don't see that every day' category: Sav Blanc from Red Mountain Estate in Myanmar.

It was served in every restaurant we went to and frankly not bad. I could add 'considering ... ' but it was quite OK. A bit on the dry side for me, lacking the fruit that I like, but quite OK.

Something you don't see everyday. An unoaked Viognier.

Quite an expressive floral nose. Apricot and white peach dominate with a hint of musk sticks. Refreshing palate with similar descriptors. medium minus acid, medium weight and a medium plus finish. Definitely a drink now proposition. Consumed out of Zalto universals.

There was a pretty interesting show about the history of Australian wine late Wednesday night on ABC. Oz Clarke was defending the 'kanga-rouge' as an excellent drop, said anyone who laughs at it doesn't know wine.

Drinking sideways down in Melbourne would be a possible hint that you were imbibing to the legless level.
One in my family drinks up to 3 bottles of wine in a night but he says it's only two because you don't count white wine.
However I don't think you can miss counting any bottle that says 13% alcohol.
The Mosswood that arrived this last week will allow us to compare the Diana from Cullens.

I had to drive so I definitely kept my legs...

Ahh I really enjoyed the viognier nouveau 2012, haven't tasted their 2013. Both this and the 2012 oaked variety I posted slightly earlier were excellent. No wonder that their shiraz viognier is one of the best of its kind

Love going back to my parents place as they are always giving me something surplus to their requirements.

My dad doesn't drink Chardonnay (and neither do I, but we should be able to find somebody to drink it):

Provenance is good, came from my cousins cellar in Sydney. Must be half decent then given his 700+ bottle cellar. I took a double take at the year - I didn't think whites lasted this long:
