Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

There is but it seems to be closed for further comment.

That's OK - there's a replacement that's right up @Daver6's alley: Natural wine? Anyone else a fan?

:p

Bad day in Sydney , smoky sky and 37 degrees ,luckily cool breeze finally came by.
I don't drink much whites, mainly semillons but this had me and bought a dozen for the last 3 vintages.

loads of fresh fruit on the nose , it's smooth and soft , flowers and melon , a long finish at the end but I don't think I will keep this wine for long term , maybe just on the 10 year mark.

After five weeks away in the old world drinking mostly Portuguese and Spanish wines I’m looking forward to open some good Aussie stuff.

I was however very fortunate to drink some quality champagnes during travel, making long haul flights much more enjoyable :)

Krug 04 followed by Comtes 07 :)
Dom comes last just for the record.

pj once you get to know boomy you can read him like a book - his favourite? Anything over $200 that HE DID NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR 👍👍👍

More like a magazine with lots of pictures :p

Nope Pommery won’t cut it in that company - I always have a few botts Pommery in the cellar as it kinda became a fave of the Ette’s after touring there - we do drink out of Pommery glasses we bought from there shop.

As I have ousted elsewhere the 20 boxes Pommery I bought have all been handballed onto family and friends.

Now back to topic at hand - I have now given the Comptes in SQ F 3 x serious workouts - it is way short of Krug! I also had 3 visits to TPR over past week - 3 times staff opened new botts CH Rare for me - it is so far above the Comptes not funny - wish they had that onboard in rotation with Krug instead of Comptes

He won’t be interested in your Pommery bonanza then? :)

I had a case in the basket ready to press send when thought to myself it’s silly to order wine I don’t really enjoy drinking just because it’s much below RRP.

Comtes is 100% Chardonnay, very different than Krug and Piper maybe that’s why it wasn’t to your taste.

Head grenache was delicious, definitely recommended and worth trying
Bernoota is an old trusty that I hadn't seen for a while, still great value
Preferred the 2016 M3 over the 2017, but vice versa for the Lethbridge

I missed the tasting last week, but Randall's son Gus was nice enough to give me these when I collected about three dozen bottles accumulated over a few orders since early this year:

Yes, that's what I thought as well - though they could've made good gifts, especially for $16.16 :)

Head grenache is a great buy every year, bargain price too.
