Two days of drinking Picardy wines and I’m impressed!
I don’t know much about Pemberton but my +1 used to work there 15 years ago and has fond memories.
The Chardonnay is classic WA. I’m no expert by any means but there is something about WA Chardonnays that makes them distinctively betterdifferentfrom the rest and I love their style.
Shouldn’t be surprised by the quality, these are the people who established Moss Wood so they obviously know a thing or two about winemaking. Speaking of which, the last PN I had from WA was MW and I remember thinking it was nice but overpriced at $60. Picardy PN retails at $40 (before other discounts) and I think it’s fantastic value. This is a seriously good PN and to think it’s just their entry level, amazing!
Wine night at Ying Chow Adelaide - $5 per person corkage. It is nice to have generous friends with good wine collections. The 75 Leo Buring stood exceptionally well!View attachment 241781
Really nice. Very well made, noticeably low dosage, crisp wine. Having said that, my only recent reference point at the RRP ($280) is a 2010 Dom and I think that is the much better choice. Not that i want to pay that much for either! What was the Penfolds champagne like?
Bet the Domaine Dujac wasn't bad either...Wine night at Ying Chow Adelaide - $5 per person corkage. It is nice to have generous friends with good wine collections. The 75 Leo Buring stood exceptionally well!View attachment 241781
Are you posting TN here or on auswine? I am keen to hear how the Rockford was, and where it sat with its peers.I suppose the theme for the tasting last night is kinda obvious from this line up...

I tried the ‘15 at the CD and loved it, I also have some ‘16 but haven’t tried it yet
How was it @boomy? Compare it to anything . I have a few tucked away. Much life ahead?Seriously good Chardonnay. Glad I read the back label because apparently this vintage was made at Giaconda by their winemaker. Also it’s 14.5%, quite punchy for Chardy!
