Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

When in Georgia do as the Georgians. When not, just drink proper wine. Georgians may have been some of the early origins of fermentation of grapes but this is orange wine stuff is not one of their better efforts. Other peoples discovered that protecting the ferment from oxygen gave wine instead of oxidized grape juice.:) YMMV! :)

You can have oxidised without the skin contact. Hello vin jaune!

A follow up for the Roo! :)

Well, I'm not in the habit of looking to New York for sensible commentary on wine (or on anything, much). They probably thought Georgia was close to Alabama.

If you've actually tried it (and qvevri wine in general), and didn't like it, good on ya. I was having a degustation menu and I wanted a wine that would also be interesting - not some predictable 'safe' stuff from Penfolds.

Oh, and I wouldn't avoid trying any wine because some snotty wine writer decided to dump on it.

The new BoF PN is out, good excuse to compare vintages. Consumed side by side over two nights.

We thought the 2020 was light and fruity (red fruits) while 2019 was more smoky and rounded. Could be the extra time in bottle but the two did taste quite different.
So does that mean the 2020 is worth picking up or nay? I would have associate BOF with darker/richer palate.

Weekend tipple - probably a bit silly opening 5 chards between Ms. B and myself for Friday but I felt like it.

Along with a couple of bottles of Ochota - Gamay tasted much better this time around (maybe because I was a few charddies deep, but still didn't enjoy the nose).
