Theme last night was German wines. Whites were really high quality with the 2010 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Spätlese being WOTN. Reds, best avoided. Over priced and average at best.

Last night I was disappointed with the 2021 Moss Wood. Nowhere near as good as their 2018 or even their 2020.
The Moet was a good conversation starter and the Limoncello was a great finisher.

The Conterno Fantino 2016 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda (with 6,500 bottles produced) draws its fruit from a 1.2-hectare site in Monforte d'Alba with silty soils mixed with sand and clay. It opens to bright cherry and dried raspberry that set the tone for the abundant primary fruit that defines the bouquet. Those red berry flavors cede to cola, spice, mint and rosemary essence. There is an almost exotic quality here spurred forward by pressed blue flower and church incense. However, the big takeaway here is the sheer energy and resonance of this classic Barolo.

Working my way through a bottle of Rutherglen De Bortoli 2023 Termpranillo. A nice lite wine with a subtle body. Goes with anything. Next on the list, Chambers, Jones and Campbell wines.

Public holiday in PERfect today so a lovely dinner out last night at a favourite BYO in Subi Piccolo Trattoria - Italian Trattoria - Dine-in - Italian Restaurant Subiaco

Champagne was a half bottle as opposed to a massive flute (before some smart ar$se points it out)
