Cool cool. Does that info come from EF?

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

To show how second nature this has become for me: I had booked a DJ flight SYD-TSV which was way cheaper than the rest at the start of the week. However all returns were $400+ at the end of the week. Immediately I looked at JASA flights and there was one remaining flight at c.33 000 points, quickly booked it for ~$100 and 24 000 points. I'm on my way to requalify for WP!

Enjoy them while they last folks, very handy during a double SC promo as well!

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

Are they going to stop offering JASA (or any other ASA) tickets?

Just the law of eroding frequent flyer benefits, they have already gone up in cost in the past year!

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

Love them and changed one tonight for a week earlier when A JASA fare opened up on the date really preferred rather than the date that acceptable.

A quick call to the QF WP line and the friendly lady listened to what I wanted, confirmed it and then asked if she could put me on hold for a minute. When she came back she apologised for putting me on hold (which was really a very short time) read out the dates and flights I had asked for and said they had been changed as requested and that she had just emailed the new ticket for me.

I thanked her, hung up and then selected the seats I wanted. All very quick and painless, well done to QF.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

So if you have a JASA and want to change dates you just call them up, as you would if you had paid for a fully flexible ticket? Can't do that with a classic award, can you? Interesting! Thanks...

Not always; it depends upon the fare rules presented at the time of booking. It's a good idea to read and fully comprehend these each and every time you book as they can vary.

I always store a print of these to a .pdf when booking.

e.g. I had an ex SIN JASA which had a SGD301 change/cancel fee.

Thanks - will check my T&C. Was a domestic JASA so hopefully not too painful...

Advice on the most efficient JASA (ASA) out of OOL or BNE

Hi - I need 120 SC to requalify for SG at end April 2012. I just picked up 100 SC OOL-SYD JQ SYD-MEL JASA MEL-SYD JASA SYD-OOL JQ I tried to game it by flying via CBR or HBT but just couldn't get the times to work.

I will pick at least another 20SC with Return out of OOL in late March, so looking for ideas for the remaining 100SC. I'm pretty open on time after end January. Any innovative suggestions gladly received. BNE-MEL JASA will earn 120 SC but it looks like a minimum of 48,000 pts & $165.

Have you thought about doing it before Dec 23 while the bonus is applicable? A simple JASA SYD-TSV will be 100 SC for 24000 + $100 or so and will earn 2800 points + the bonus.

That sounds good, but I'm based in Kingscliff so need to fly out of OOL or BNE - Their BNE-TSV JASA start at 31,000 + each way.

JASA: CBR-SYD-HBA will earn 100 SC and cost 16K + $100

JASA: SYD-HBA-MEL-SYD will earn 140 SC's and cost 48K + $185.

YASA/JASA: SYD-(Y)-xMEL-(Y)-HBA-(J)-xMEL-(J)-SYD will earn 100 SC's and cost 36K + $180.

Get to TSV then do a TSV-ADL JASA or to Sydney.

A plat doing the TSV-BNE-DRW run is effectively getting 280 SC for a net cost of 24000 points and $200 thanks to the double points on offer until Dec 23.

This is bonus frequent flyer points only, not bonus SC as well, or have I missed something?

TIA!

just bonus points, which reduce the cost of a JASA, significantly in the case of the longer ones!
