I can't seem to find this rumoured Platinum card .. :p

Yes unfortunately "https://www.velocityrewards.com.au/images/common/card_platinum.gif" comes up as a page not found.... for now.

Thanks, I would have looked at that card hundreds of times. Why did I not think of looking there berofe I asked. :-|

I don't see a smart chip on the card... Am I having another stupid Liam moment?

The red looks a tad ugly. Maybe it looks better in person?

Oh there's no visible smart chip ... more like me just being a smart a*** and speculating about NGCI for Virgin! :D

Ahhh, I see.

Well, when I made a comment about QF's IT system being better than Virgin on my flight from MEL the other day. I got a very cheeky, "You. Just. Wait. "

I'm guessing the barcode on the back, can somehow be related to your membership, and be used as a boarding pass. I'd really like a checkin system that can Issue boarding passes after I've completed OLCI. As I rarley bother to find a printer to print... It'll save my from nagging the people in the lounge.

Virgin's next 737-81D VH-YFF has been rolled out at Renton, should have it's first flight pretty soon and be delivered soon after, will be painted in the new color scheme prior to delivery.
Cheers

Any idea where painting is happening?
As far as I am aware YFF will be the first one to be painted at Boeing itself.
Cheers

Edited to add; In other Virgin fleet news the word is that we can expect the first of the new ATR's very soon, they will be delivered in the new livery.

Not necessarily Virgin Platinum;
=but a whole host of other names=
Virgin Diamond
Virgin Gold Plus
Virgin Executive
Virgin Executive Plus
etc...
etc...
etc...

With the new velocity website being upgraded as it has been, I have a feeling the Velocity Rewards moniker may be with us for a while... in which case - I want to know when I get my new card!

Re: the new VA planes. I was excited when boarding a flight last week back to Melbourne to see a very white looking bird at my gate!!! I was running late (yes they were paging me again) and as I ran down the aerobridge I realised it was the Gold Coast Suns plane - not the new VA one... :(

Also, taxiing to the terminal last night in Melbourne, a Virgin plane in new livery was waiting for us to exit the runway, and then got on and took off - at about 9pm I guess it was. Was too dark and I didn't have glasses - so don't know if it is their new one, or the general fleet is starting to get its makeover :)

Good times...

In my monthly statement, I noticed it had a box around:

Update your details

We have your postal address as:

Could be a clue.

i noticed the same thing and also thought - right, they want to send out our new cards.... also ties in with the 'update your details to win 50,000 points' promo they had a while back.... hmmm... did any of us win?

Or, if VA do get some tiers sorted out, and they run with VA Platinum tier, they could have a VA Platinum One Plus.....;)

I suggest the top tier should be Velocity FOB, can stand for either 'Friends of Borghetti' or 'Friends of Branson', take your pick!

FOB in transportation terms is "Free On Boat".

May perhaps give the wrong impression
