Thanks Ansett! Maybe they will give me money if I make a video saying "White is pure, white is clean - Purple is a warm colour" and draw kangaroos with really long legs

hahahahahahaha. Im sure you can pull if off, make sure to do it in an accent though ;)

New Safety Video

VA reps...
Now that the A330 has entered into service, is there any chance we could please get a copy of the new Virgin Australia A330 Safety Video uploaded onto your youtube channel? Please?!

I have just completed 8 flights on Virgin Australia and 2 on Qantas.

Got to check out the new MEL lounge (finally) and it's very nice!!

However, as I have said before, I just find Qantas flights more "homely" and "welcoming" on either the old 767's or the 737's.

I don't know if it's the leather seats on VA or the drop down screen on the QF 737's but I just feel more "welcome" on an Qantas plane.....

I really can't say what exactly it is, but VA still feels "cheap" as they are trying to sell meals, IFE and the like.............

My loyalty is going to remain divided between QF/VA for the short term at least.

Wait until you fly on one of the new 737's with the BSI interior, and J class cabin. They're modern, funky, and spacious. Still not necessarily that "homely" feel (you could describe AA that way as well - with the cracked old leather seats in F ... and the creased old FA's in Y!) but I think I prefer it now to the QF 737.

And I do like purple mood lighting, whether it's on VA, VX or QF international!

So, over the weekend I flew DJ SYD-ADL return, and I was very lucky, for both flights I got Bondi Beach!

Interior: Modern look and feel, the leather feel is better than the older faux leather seats. However I am not such a big fan for the purple dim lighting during the flight. Not a big deal.

Uniform: I very much like the new uniform, looked very professional and smart.

IFE: At the moment it is well, nothing. There is certainly no seat back IFE installed. This is something I am waiting on from DJ on its future. My guess is free Wifi streaming to all the smart devices .....

Food: I bought the following over 2 flights:
- Orange juice + Honey Soy Chicken chips
- Water + Premium Pie

The pie and the chips is certainly tasty however I think they should also have premium chicken/vegetable pie in the menu. The price of food is not too expensive but also not cheap. I guess DJ will try to make more money here.

Service: Well as usual DJ FA are very curteous and professional. I have no issues at all.

On-time performance: My first flight it take off was delayed for 50 minutes because:
- late arrival of aircraft
- waiting for connecting passengers
- strong winds at SYD meaning only 1 runway could be used for takeoff/landing
It arrived at ADL 30 minutes late. There were no issues with the return flight to SYD.

I think sooner or later DJ would need to increase frequency of some of the routes if they want to offer more connecting flight options, as it is a pain for us to wait for connecting pax whilst QF can just put them to later flight. My flight to ADL was scheduled to depart at 1810, so there are scope for additional flight later on the day (QF have one departing at 8pm ...).

Overall: Obviously DJ is going upmarket and at the moment things are tracking quite well. I am keen to know the IFE offerings, and also want to see their ontime performance improve, and possibily increase flight frequencies. But so far so good.

For anyone interested in the ATR's that Virgin has on order I have been advised that the first two VH-FVH and VH-FVI will be delivered
early July ,they are due to leave Toulouse on June 30.

... and the only airline flying in a 2-3-2 domestic config on their A330's.

Are you guys going to do what QF did and cull the middle seat? I appreciate your pitch is far superior to QF's, but the middle seat was met with such loud volumes of complaint on QF it went very quickly. They have already gotten rid of the 2-3-2 and not just by putting the plastic tray things in (I flew one of the 330's to/from PER in J the other day, and was quite pleased with the new J seats QF have now; not the same as the NZ run in the 738's; and have USB and the cut-down 380 IFE with big touch screens).

With substantially more leg room than QF was offering a 2-3-2 configuration is no problem, as there is no issue getting past another passenger.

I think you'll find the QF 2-2-2 J 330's have been in service longer than the 2-3-2 versions.

2-3-2 was a problem on Qantas a330's because there was and is only a 36-37'' pitch

2-3-2 is not a problem on Vigin Australia a330's because there is a 62'' pitch, almost double Qantas's pitch, thus allowing the middle seated guest plenty of room for easy access to both aisles.

Just look at the photos and you can see why 2-3-2 was a problem - Virgin Australia offers the best Business class in Australia hands DOWN.

Geeze that's HUGE difference!
Admittedly I'm sure this would be fairer if the VA cabin was full - but nonetheless WOW!
