O Noes! Somebody edited my thread subject !

urban dictionary:
o noes
What you say when something goes horribly, horribly wrong.
My arm fell off.

Ok, so the Singapore KrisFlyer changes turned out not to be horribly, horribly wrong. I'm thinking it's more of an Oh cough moment instead.

And there was me thinking it was a typo! :)

So I booked my flights in suites for late Feb 2018, will change them to Augustish 2018 when availability opens up and update the thread.

Careful of what you wish for - QFF would probably double the points cost on international sectors where they would cut the YQ/YR ...
Maybe not quite double but I'd accept say a 25% increase in points required for awards and drop YQ altogether.

That sort of enhancement would make economy awards look a little bit more attractive.

I'd certainly take a 15% increase in fees for no YQ on qff. It's crazy at the moment. Too bad red too isn't around to hear the feedback anymore!!

Just booked 3 suites flights and had to call to clarify a point on one booking.

Agent definately said that any changes post 21/3/17 will trigger a requirement for more points under the new system ( ie no 15%).

Boo. Are you hoping to change your booking/s?
I expect any changes other than a date change to trigger more points- and the subsequent refund in charges. Guess we'll know for sure in just over a week!

Agent checked with a supervisor and was adamant that even a date change ( also if done online) will trigger the new points regime and take more points and refund the surcharges

Totally opposite to what Mia and her supervisor confirmed to me infinity - I would be less than confident that the agent you spoke to did indeed consult their supervisor.

This was my immediate thought on reading this also. I guess we'll find out soon!

I have sent Mia an SMS this morn regarding another matter but no response so I guess she is sleeping - I will 3 x double confirm this as soon as she gets back to me.

I won't lie, pretty stressed about this. Will find out soon enough I guess.

Appreciate everyone's input though.

Any updates Cruiser?

This doesn't make sense. What about in the case of a booking made prior to the notification about the award changes? It would be reasonable that a booking that was made in August last year can be date changed for no points changes. So I agree with others that this would not be requiring extra 15% miles.

Any updates Cruiser?

Cruiser replied in another thread.

From that and other replies, in essence the state of play seems to be that as long as date only is changed, which requires the ticket to only be re-validated rather than re-issued, (Note: Edited to avoid any later confusion. Thanks Cruiser) that one should be ok.

Things that would result in re-iisuing would be say changing the destination.

Not 100% correct - revalidation for date change / flt schedule change no problem - reissue which is cancellation of original booking and creation of new booking will be at new rates - ie extra pts and reduced charges. Info posted in SQ Tips thread as iot covers more than just this change date and I really do not want to be cross posting on a continuous basis.

I have just enough KrisFlyer miles for 2 one-way economy awards CNX-SYD in July for 42,500 miles + ~AUD500 in fuel surcharges. I suspect fuel surcharges for 2 are ~AUD300 so not too keen on 56,000 miles + ~AUD200 after tomorrow although the value saved by the extra miles is great.

Not sure whether to book or wait. There is no availability on MileagePlus or Qantas around the dates I want as I think they are in middle of school holidays?

Oh this silly game....

If you book, then no need to worry about losing availability later on. You can always cancel if something better comes up.

Good point. It's just USD30/person to cancel and full mile credit.

The revenue airfare for the one-way Flexi Saver is ~THB17,000. I assume I can add daughter to award booking and pay roughly 10% revenue airfare.

Am I the only one who is looking forward to the new system?!

I'd rather spend less cash if possible when booking award tickets.
