Now I wonder if QF will make you show your credit card at the Jakarta office within two working days before they issue your award ticket…..
Call me dumb, but:
Does anyone know or have a link on how many points QFF will "pay" on specific zones around the world with partner flights?
ie:
Washington to Chicago with AA = 1,702 Miles. (Zone 3 maby?) My reward being ??? QFF points.....
San Francisco to LA = 347 Miles. (Zone 1?)
Edit: also to work out status credits earnt on flights with partners, being all possible classes.....
It all depends on the booking class.
Step 1: find the airline's earning table on the QFF website here.
Step 2: if you're flying in a FF earning class, the next step is to find out the distance between the two cities using a tool like great circle mapper. Once you know the distance you refer back to website's earning table in step one to determine how many FF points you'll earn depending on the fare bucket.
Step 3: then use the QF status credit earning table here to determine how many status credits you'll earn.
So in you're example, Washington (DCA or IAD) to Chicago (ORD) is either 612 miles (DCA) or 589 miles (IAD). (I'm not sure where you get 1702 miles from.) The deep discount Economy fares on AA don't earn anything with AA so you first need to make sure you're in a fare earning class.

Need some help here, if one is booking a OW 140K (or 280K) trip and the trip ENDS in a point that was not the originating port, and then the distance back to the originating port is added to the flight distance, DOES the non flown distance from the last port to the origination port count as an ARK (ARUNK or arrival unknown), as this can effectively reduce the number of stop overs allowed, due to port at BOTH ends of an ARK being counted as a stopover. I tried to explain to the operator but she wasn't having it and said it had to be an ARK to the point of departure. Anybody help here?
Purely Classic! Are RTW flights all classic awards, or are they ASA?
Ok seriously stupid question I'm sure... but in the past I've bene able to plan a RTW trip with points online without any issue... tried to set up a new plan just now for RTW in 2014 with the wife, and can't seem to find the planning website that calcultes the trip in points?
the rtw.oneworld website just gives me a price in AUD and I can't seem to find the planner on the qantas website. Could someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Simply select the multi city tool on the QF website and enter your cities and dates that way. Once the critieria have been met, it will convert to a 140k/280k/420k.
A LONE4 is an economy class "oneworld explorer" revenue fare - but it looks like you are after the Qantas oneworld Award? (And the latter is what this thread is about.)My wife and I are planning a LONE4 trip for next year. Plan is SYD-SIN-KIX-FCO- ground leg to LHR then LHR-JFK-YYC ground leg to YVR then YVR-SYD however this seems to come up as 223k points each in econonomy rather than 140kea.
Any suggestions on what I'm missing here? Happy to start a new thread if people think that'd be more appropriate.
