As far as I know, I thought the OOL lounge was to open in June/July
No its not:

I heard the lounge got relocated to Metricon Stadium
Don't get my started.... I got a preview of a headline "Virgin Australia Gold Coast lounge pics..." and got all excited, when my phone finally loaded the news story. I upset me.

No building application has been lodged yet, it will be a while!
Yeah the lounge for Corporate clients is open at the Metricon Stadium. But the new airport lounge is due to open 4Q this year. So signs of construction but can't wait for it to open.
It might be an opportune time if the VA reps could give us either
a) yes, planning underway, timing tba
b) no current plans
Or at least some engagement?
Frnakly, it amazes me VA dont build a lounge there pronto. It's a prime market to steal travellers who are upset about QF Jetstarising the routes to OOL. Soon, there'll also be J seating on VA to OOL and with that an expectation of lounge access.

I mean HBA has enough DJ capacity to warrant it, Cmon!
Approximate number of departures
OOL: 21 departures/day plus a smattering of NZ and Pacific Blue flights as part of the partnership
TSV: 10 departures/day
CNS: 10 departures/day plus NZ flights/Pacific Blue flights
HBA: 7 departures/day
I think HBA makes sense from a business/government travel perspective, but OOL is a clear hands down winner here.
