Food & Beverage Attendants – Virgin Australia Lounge Gold Coast
We are seeking talented Food & Beverage Attendants to join our Team at the Virgin Australia Lounge on the Gold Coast, due to open early June! This is your opportunity to express your interest in these unique roles.
We require people who are guest orientated, friendly, attentive and have a "can do" attitude to WOW our clients in the fast paced environment of airports. Full time, part time and casual opportunities available!
Your key tasks will include:
· Food preparation
· Maintain cleanliness of all food service areas and provide Waiter style service to our Guests

In order to hit the ground running, you will have:
· Previous hospitality experience

· Flexible availability to work various shifts within Lounge Operating hours (4:30am – 9:30pm across 7 days of the week)

Yes, this confirms what I was told on check in at OOL earlier today that the opening was today confirmed to be the first week of June 2012. I had a bit of a wander around the outside and there is still a lot of work to be done internally and on the entrance at the old gate 1 area.

There is also a manager role currently advertised and it's with Alliance Catering. For a minute I thought Virgin was going to run the catering at this one.

Is there anything official on the grand opening date? This looks more like predictions each month that it will open in another month or two.

I'm sure there are enough AFF members who would volunteer for a trial run, as part of staff training. We could gather as a group, just before the official opening, and new staff could practice coffee making, drink serving, food prep etc.

We could practice drinking, eating, making lots of noise etc.

It's a win/win situation for VA and AFF

I've got to admit, I miss the airport a little bit.

I miss rolling out of bed an hour before my flight is due to depart, and having the car park a 30 second walk from the terminal.
