#722 Thread.... Appears there is a considerable amount of interest & pent up demand for this lounge opening! I surely, amongst many others look forward to the experience @ OOL.. Sure hope it lives up to the expectations.. Otherwise, a great PR & marketing exercise for Virgin.

Regardless of whom the new lounge manager may be, if they're even close to replicating Annette's ability, then they're my choice! Now, if Annette does indeed reside on the fabulous GC, a transfer request may already be in the pipeline.......that would make me one very happy OOL'ite :mrgreen:

Didn't take a photo as I didn't think it would do it justice, but the lighting was on tonight... The purple glow looks pretty cool. 7 days and counting down...!

Just flew into OOL and the lounge is looking good, the roof was lit up and everything blocking the windows in has been removed. Looking nice!!

Will endeavour to get a photo when I fly out this evening.

Had a good look at the lounge before my flight, I think the entrance will be right next to the desk at gate one. If you look from outside (walk out of gate two and look back) you can see a set of stairs going upstairs.

It looms very pretty.

Yes, the entrance will be near Gate 1 That's where the hoarding has been up for ages

I am happy they put a curtain, that appears to be permanent, I was thinking they may have just left it open to view!

So assuming the magical, mystical, mythical and whimsical OOL lounge is on track for a 30 May opening, are we on for 1400 2 June?

I've honestly no idea. Previous lounge excursions have netted in the late teens, but they weren't an opening for such a long awaited product. Perhaps we just say turn up with a purple piece of attire (for identification). Anyone who needs guesting post on here and we'll see if there any shortfalls over available guest spots amongst the golds/plats, to plead with the angels over. A friendly "warning" to lounge staff and it's then done!
